at the Academy tonight - picked up 2 tickets for £25 eachh whix was about £15 under face value including booking fee ....pretty vacant ! - i liked the album tracks like Seventeen, New York & EMI best, really rocking altho the sound - defo one of the loudest gigs we'd ever been to - was a bit pitchy and fuzzy. Considering the amount of distortion Steve Jones puts on his giutar, it all became one helluva racket at times, couldnt really hear the bass....
they lowered a bacdrop for God Save the Queen of the single cover as £1 stamps, encore was a moshtastic Bodies (one of their stupid songs) and finally Anarchy. The audience was dense with big bellied baldies.
Lydon pulled silly faces and stupid gestures, and seemed isolarted from the band, the other 3 were like a unit and gathered round the drum riser like 3 conspirators, neber even acknowledging the singer was there....:eek:
But on the whole we enjoyed it - they sure do kick out the jams, altho the covers were a disappointing Stepping Stone and magnificent No Fun.
The last gig is on Wednesday and i bet you could get ticketss on gumtree like i did.....:cool:
