Been self employed, sole trader and limited company. Currently employed. All my various self employed roles have come about after being made redundant and have lasted anywhere from 6 months to 7 years.

Self employed but for the past 3 months been working on something VERY different that could open up all manner of interesting opportunities. Err it is all legal! There is a possibility that I might have to reconsider where I reside and a fair amount of travel might well be involved in the future.

Oooh I sound like Gypsy Rose!:p

I'm considering buying another small business so I haven't been put off being self-employed. It's in Wales. Have done the initial due diligence and it looks interesting, I go see them on Thursday. That will be the acid test...

I was self employed myself once some years as a trade plate driver, you,ve seen us at the side of the road carrying red no. plates, anyway I found myself to be an unreliable employee and after a number of arguments with myself regarding my work ethic and attitude, I had to suspend meself without pay, this was the final straw and I deceded to leave the job before I sacked meself. Hope this helps
