A few people have asked, so here is a couple of pics of my new home :) No bikes but I have a trackday in 3 weeks, so I'll add some of those.

Bondi Beach (about 15 mins from my flat)

Harbour Bridge + Opera House

Huntsman Spider. My girlfriend found this looking at her in the bathroom! For all you spider lovers - Rather than run away like most spiders, these guys run and jump AT you as part of their defense mechanism!

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9993/img2925qj7.jpg

Tamarama beach - my local (that and Bronte) 5 mins walk from my door!

http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/8618/img2912ik5.jpg

Will add more when I next transfer them from my camera!

Neat Pics - funny as I did learn to surf on that very beach - well it was the first beach I ever stood up on a board without falling straight off again. Oh how I miss the beaches.... :smt022

wow what a crummy looking place. I have a beautiful place located in texas, right near a highway and a gas station. Would you consider moving from that salty, clean air, beautiful babe beach location to my roadside getaway? Im only offering you once, so you should jump on it.

I nearly died trying to surf on Bondi but I am the worlds skinniest, lankiest person ever. Git. You just wait 'til you have unidentified moisture dripping down your forehead! S**t F**k C***. F***. S***.

Good on ya. F****r. B*****ks. ****.

speaking as your resident australian import, that spider is harmless. its the teeny tiny ones you have to watch out for, but as long as you don't go sticking your fingers into strange holes you find in rocks, under chairs or in your garden, you are pretty safe.

when you get a bike, if you need some pointers on where the good roads are, just let me know!

Thats one of the things I regret not doing while I was in South Africa...
I think I may just start investigating local surf spots and kit prices:smt077

Here here. That's a huntsman isn't it?

How do you get rid of one? With my size 10 DMs. Or an air gun!

can i join the "I miss nice beaches club" pleeeease. And can we arrange a trip to a nice beach too?

Anyhoo, JDub....if you are even remotely thinking of trying surfing off the coast of this island, DONT!

You need a full body wet suit complete with gloves and booties and a balaclava!!! and that just about keeps you warm for a while.
Some of the beaches in Cornwall are stunning to look at but your feet will go blue and drop off after about 10mins of walking in the surf.
Trust me i tried it when i thought of living in Cornwall somewhere and going surfing.
This is the beach i used to live by..

And i miss it soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much

I lived in the cluster of houses to the left btw, where the locals lived. The other places are for tourists.

oh and i have stood on top of this cliff where this pic was taken from but i didnt take this pic.

that is exactly how you get rid of them, but you may need a pint glass or a saucepan. really to scale, its probably about 2-3 inches across, not that big at all, and teeny considering that it has no venom and just stings when it bites you. (i speak from experience. but it took 10 minutes of annoying the hell out of it before it had had enough)

Seems like a lot of effort to me!

Personally i would use its 'jumping defence reflex' as a chance to brush up on my backhand.

it's all true, granted we only lasted half an hour or so, and the resulting chill took several hours to get extremities like feet back to a healthy pink colour, but it was worth it:cool:

Nice pics there. Bloomin Big Spider eh! You should have moved to NZ. Better beaches and spiders are usually smaller. There is one called the Avondale that is a relative of the Huntsman, and of course it got here from Aus by hitching a ride...... Dizzy Blonde you should have a look at NZ too if you're after coming over to Oz. Probably better pay in Oz, and of course it is hotter, but then again..... Hotter weather normally means bigger things to bite you !!!!
Shall I post some pics up of NZ?

Get yourself a nice longboard, something like a 9'6" triple stringer and you'll be hooked in no time.
