My better half purchased her road tax online, supposed to be delivered within 5 days (cheeky ba$tards put them in envelopes stamped with "priority post" PMSL) ... anyway, a little over 2 weeks goes by, so she phones them up ... they cancel the original one, and tell her they have re-posted her a new one. She arrives home that day to find ... yup, you guessed it ... the original tax disc ordered more than 2 weeks previous. The other (newer/replacement) one arrives 2 days later ... consistency?!?

Kwak ... get back to work so that this country's post can return to normal m8 ;-)

I've been waiting for an important letter. They posted it 3 days ago special delivery... Seeing as they're on 6 miles away I should probably just have rode down and collected it.

Why do the posties put letters through the wrong doors? Is it a game, can they not read, or do they pre-sort stuff and then just go into sleep mode? Do they forget which street they are in?

It probably a game to see who can get away with most!

There's probably even a leader board at the depot and a monthly prize!!

when you get streets with similar names example my street Abingdon Road and the next street to us Abingdon Way, the postie is usually half a sleep or new to the walk and doesn't realize so happily just pops them through the letter box, if he does realize what he's done its normally to early or no ones home to retrieve the mis delivered mail. we get it when our normal postie is off and we get a spare or casual, out mail came at 5.05 tonight.

I was new to a walk the once in Wolverhampton and it had a road called rosemary crescent west, whilst prepping my walk in the morning i found mail for rosemary crescent? so i pushed the lot through Rosemary crescent west and later found out there are 2, rosemary crescent and rosemary crescent west.

At least you probably only have one language to decipher kwak. We get a lot of stuff with addresses entierly in Gaelic. Also, because this is a tourism hotspot there's the hordes of postcards, in various foreign scripts, with maybe one word in english if you're lucky.

The distribution side of things has gone tits up here since these new HGV Euro compliance rules came in a few weeks ago. We used to get one arrival at 08:00 with all the stuff that's due for delivery, most of the island was delivered by 3pm. Now we have two trucks, one due at 08:30 with 70% of the mail, then another at 09:30 with the rest. Except it's nearly always an hour late. I'm not even getting out the office til near noon, by then I'm an hour overdue for lunch, and two hours behind on delivery. Total balls-up.
