In my boycott of Tesco! How many of you are of a certain age and remember Chopper bikes when they were GOOD, 20p mix-up sweety bags that were the average weight of a 2yr old, and .........LIME milkshakes???
Oh, the sublime, neon milkshake of my youth, how I loved thee...
http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g153/jessicarabbit_2006/crusha_lime_18.jpg R.I.P. :smt022
Only now TESCO has refused to continue stocking it. The gits. My whole childhood links are smashed. Well, the milkshake related ones anyway.
So please read the email I sent to Tesco (BELOW) and JOIN ME in making a difference. Please. I need your help.
My email to Tesco:
I have just ended a rather distressing (for me) telephone conversation with Crusha in Peterborough... not a granny-bashing neanderthal, but the REAL Crusha syrup factory! They told me that Tesco as a whole have REFUSED to stock Lime Milkshake, meaning that they have had to DISCONTINUE IT as they can't justify production if the market-leader won't stock it. That's you, that is. The market leader. The place where I shop, religiously, day-in, day-out.
Well, NO MORE, Tesco. I am of the 'certain age' when the original Chopper bikes were cool, a pick 'n' mix 20p sweetie-bag was the weight of a small child, and LIME MILKSHAKE WAS KING!!! I have been blessed with a child who is now 2yrs old. I wanted to make him the lime milkshakes I had as a child. Tall glass, TWO straws and full fat milk... maybe even some squirty cream or icecream on the top. Heaven in a glass. But Nooooo. Tesco took the milkshake away. No more tastebuds skipping down nostalgia lane for ME.
Therefore I thought it only fair to tell you, as we are in a democratic society where freedom of speech is sometimes recognised, that I am starting a war to bring back the Lime. Yes, Me. Housewife and Mum-of-One. I shall boycott your good selves (or good shelves, pardon the pun) and will be shopping in ASDA forthwith. I shall email all of my friends (I have a surprising amount, given the things I choose to do with my spare time) and advise they do the same. They, in turn, hopefully will email THEIR friends. I shall email my local papers, then I think I shall email the Nationals. I shall not stop until I taste the Lime again. We will fight you on the... sorry, that was pure plagiarism there, I've gotten emotional and carried away. I digress, my apologies.
I will require a response. Ebay is selling covetted bottles of Lime Milkshake for 200% more than retail price. The Times has had letters mourning it's passing:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/letters/article2672268.ece
I shall be heard, future generations of Limeless children depend on me.
Yours most passionately,
Mrs Jackie Martin-Corben of Portsmouth.
Please forward on to all your friends, the email in your inbox from me. If I don't have your email address and you wanna be a part of this WHERE IT STARTS, then PM me your email and I will forward it to you.
Let's go get the Lime back. http://www.gbbikers.co.uk/gbb/Smileys/gbb/icon_twisted.gif http://www.gbbikers.co.uk/gbb/Smileys/gbb/icon_twisted.gif http://www.gbbikers.co.uk/gbb/Smileys/gbb/icon_twisted.gif

To be honest, I'm not really bothered about these things. However, your passion on this subject it astounding. Therefore, please see a copy below of the e-mail just sent to Tesco:
Dear Sir / Madam,
I have been led to believe that your stores will no longer be stocking the Lime Flavour Crusha Milkshake Syrup. I am frankly outraged at this stance. I have been buying this product from your stores for many years, and frankly, my 6 children are addicted to the stuff.
I would kindly request that you re-instate this product to prevent my forthcoming domestic misery.
Failure to adhere to this request will result in me taking my custom to ADSA.
Kindest Regards,
John Tew.
By the way...I dont have 6 kids, or shop at Tesco...but well, a little white lie never hurt anyone..?

I respect your passion but surely they have stopped stocking it as there must be very little actual demand. In which case, unless thousands of people suddenly decide to buy it and indeed continue to buy it after their initial purchase.....this is a road to nowhere.
Sorry.

Please support Jax and her quest for the re-instatement of Lime milkshake...
Thanks hun, as it's not really about the Lime love/hate relationship. It's about bliddy Tesco throwing their weight around and causing pain to soooooo many businesses and their customers. Small businesses are constantly being swallowed up and poo'd out by the unforgivable-tesco-sherman-tank of retail, but now it seems to affect large worldwide companies such as Crusha.
I don't CARE if I'm one of the minority of people who LIKE the LIME. I care about having the choice of whether I buy it or not, from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Somerfield, Waitrose, Co-op, Budgens, Spar.... the list is endless.
If it REALLY is a minority taste, then adjust stock ratio accordingly, Tesco!! Is it THAT hard? For every 4 bottles of rancid chocolate crusha you buy, order just 1 of LIME.
Oh, see now I just depressed myself again. There'll also be no more Choc/Lime milkshake opportunities. Sigh. The LIME was the only thing that made a choc milkshake bearable for me. :smt022
Anyways, please please help. I don't beg much (Ask Grinch, he'll tell you!) but I really do need your help guys. I want to make my little boy at least ONE Lime milkshake during his childhood, just like the Lime milkshakes my Mummy made for me when I was little, and oh how I loved her so much for it.
Lime and Raspberry are the ONLY flavours for milkshake. I also love lime, and have one at a little coffee shop here in town every time I visit. I'm gutted that it seems I won't be able to have them any more:(
have you tried getting it "bulk" from Crusha
i cant get seabrook crisps in wales, so they will send me a box of 48 from bradford (mixed flavours of my choice)
it works out cheaper,
Copy of my e mail to Tesco.
Dear Tesco,
I first became disenchanted with you when my partner bought one of your jars of petit pois and baby carrots, only for us to discover on opening that the supposed petit pois were in fact processed peas. Disgusting things. Totally ruined our Sunday roast.
Now, to my horror, I hear that you are discontinuing Crusha Lime milkshake. That is the final straw in a never to be had again milkshake.
Consider us lost as customers forthwith.

have you tried getting it "bulk" from Crusha
I called Crusha yesterday and spoke to one of their marketing and production managers. It seems that they have discontinued the whole flavour, as TESCO have told them they won't stock it. As Tesco is the market leader, Crusha cannot justify making the syrup if Tesco boycott it. It's apparently one of the more expensive syrups to produce. Crusha said Makro had the last remaining stock of Lime. They have also sold-out. I called them too as I have a Makro card.
BUT, Crusha have the formula for the syrup. They ALSO told me that if Tesco LISTEN to customers, albeit it in the minority, then Crusha WILL produce this syrup once more. Hence my desperate plea to all my fellow bikers. :help:

Thanks for trying, but I found this yesterday too... my heart skipped with glee!!!.... Then I heard from Crusha themselves that the website's not been updated for over a year, and MAKRO were the last people to receive final shipment of the LAST EVER BATCHES OF LIME.
As I said earlier, I called Makro who did a national product search. Their reserves are depleted. It Is, alas, no more.
Which is why I need you all, even the Lime-haters among you, to email Tesco! Please. PLEEEEEEEASE.

Jax - can you ask Crusha for the recipe? Then you will be like THE lime milkshake heiress, with plentiful supplies on tap at all times!
And you could sell it to other desperate addict types at hideously inflated prices (if you're feeling really mean) ;)
I'm afraid I can't get excited about Crusha lime milk-shake, I think it's absolutely gopping. My younger three kids loved it though and now they are of an age where they can write their own amusing emails to try and get it restocked in supermarkets.
