Where can I get some good digital vernier calipers? It's my brother birthday and parents are going to get him some calipers so they want to get a good set for around £100ish.

Thanks
Andy

Considering the vernier is the scale that allows fractions of the scale to be measured on traditional vernier gauges. I would thing the terms digital as to imply a digital readout and vernier are mutually exclusive.

My vernier calipers with proper imperial units cost me a small fortune 30 years ago. (over a weeks wages at the time). But I have to admit, I tend to use a cheap £30 digital set with imperial and metric at the flick of a switch.

I've got Halfords Pro, quite nice me thinks. They were a present but I believe they are around the £40 mark.

I think the Maplins one and the Halfords one might be the same part, but with different stickers. Not sure where mine's from, Machine Mart or Halfords most likely.
