has anybody ever tried to put HID bulbs in projector lenses that normally take H4 standards?

(proper, high voltage HID not just xenon bulbs)

Ive put a HID on my TT6 headlight, was good i had a blue 6k version then i changed to the 4800k one which was nicer, ive yet to move all the kit over to my kwak. One problem i did have on the TT was stray light beams around the edges of the luminated area which was odd. Did not try on my SV as i dont have anywhere to put the balasts yet.

What setup was that?

the TT6 had only a single H4 reflector. I used a HID with a moving metal shield to move the beam up and down quickly, the balast luckly fit just infront of the speedo, there was a relay wiring back to the battery but it all came part of the kit, its for a dual config but i was only using one bulb.

I may well do something like that, perhaps with some car foglights and shoehorn in HID bulbs.
Brackets to aim the dips down and up a bit at the left will be easy enough.

We shall see what can be done with scrapyard bits :p
