Basically the lower fairing has a crack in it on the back inward facing surface, the crack reaches out to the edge? Can this be repaired at home?
Thanks, Tom.

Can it be done at home? sure it can, depended on what standard of finish you want/ how good you are, like everything it takes practise to make a good job.
Basics,
to fix.
fiberglass, resin, epoxy or plastic welding to fix.
to fill.
resin, body filler, plastic padding.
to colour.
hand paint, spray cans, home spray (compressor), pro job.
about covers it.
Cheers Mark.
I fixed mine with fibreglass. It's held good so far - about 6 months - and you'd hardly notice that it's cracked.
personally i'd get it plastic welded and painted by a pro
i had a small crack in the fairing near the indy, cost 130 quid maybe? was a while ago. that was for weld, respray, sticker
they did a bloody good job on it aswell, you physically cant see theres been damage
bodging it means if you knock it again, it's a weak spot and it may well induce alot more damage. But i think maybe even welded its still a slight weakspot?
but if you really dont want to spend any money and do it from home, pop it into line, gaffa tape on the inside... the hobo way :rendeer:

If you want to avoid repainting, then what I'd do is plastic weld it from the inside, using a soldering iron... it'll not be as strong as it could be, but it should at least stop it from getting worse, and it'll be hidden.
Use Plastex (http://www.plastexexpress.co.uk/), highly recommended.
I haven't used this service so can't comment on how good it is but it may be of use? http://www.clubpromoto.co.uk/site/plasticsurgeon.php

buy some epoxy and like everyone has said, epoxy it from the backside after you line the crack up nice. then go to the front and use a dab of touch up paint and clear coat. wont look mint, but it will look better than cracked. might want to be careful your epoxy doesnt run through the crack to the front side of the fairing though, this gets messy

Just as well they did a bloody good job on it for that money. Wasn't it cheaper to get a new fairing? I was quoted £150 to plastic weld etc the crack in my Daytona bellypan, a new one's £130, and the fibreglass kit was £10. Labour free;)
i cant remember how much it was, but it was around the ton mark
Arnold's Fairing Repairs in kingswinford, he was recommended by literally everyone i spoke to the fairing about, and i had abit of cash, so though lets get a pro on it, strong fix, good coat of paint. job done
