I watched this film one night a few months ago, I was flicking through the channels and it was a few minutes in, I got totally sucked into it. Its very odd and a bit random, but it also has the quality to it that makes you want to know what happened.

Pete recommends this one. It has sub-titles................unless you are fluent in French:D

More like it. I've seen it,but some might have missed it.
If you like slasher flicks I would recommend this (http://www.bfi.org.uk/sightandsound/review/748).

Enemy at the Gates (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0215750/)
Seen those two 8)
I recommend
Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165798/)
Live action Manga: Ichi The Killer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0296042/) aka Koroshiya 1 - Really wierd though... funny at times... and very violent... cartoony manga violence, but with real actors...
Hong Kong/Thai Horror film: The Eye (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325655/) aka Gin Gwai - Scary like The Ring, or the Grudge
Edit: In fact I have them on DVD if anyone wants to borrow them....
If we're going oriental try
Hard Boiled (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104684/)
and
New Police Story (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386005/)
If you like slasher flicks I would recommend this (http://www.bfi.org.uk/sightandsound/review/748).
I thought you were a big squeamish girlie Sarah!
Spirited Away (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429/)
Heat (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113277/)
Star Trek: First Contact (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117731/) What??? I like it... :geek:

Weekend at Bernies
And
Weekend at Bernies 2

Spirited Away (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429/)

Class film that.
My recommendations would be as follows, some of which are pesky foreign subtitled films:
Infernal Affairs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/) - Cantonese. Remade into The Departed but this is a far better film IMO
13 - Tzameti (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475169/) - French. Most nailbiting concept for a film...I'll leave the rest for you to discover
Reqieum For A Dream (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0180093/) - Drug film with a difference, concerning more than just narcotics, directed by Aronofsky
Tunes Of Glory (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054412/) - Classic tense drama with Mills and Guinness
Sexy Beast (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0203119/) - Gritty Brit gangster film, Ray Winstone & awesome Ben Kingsley
Chinatown (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071315/) - Jack Nicholson, directed by Polanski, great detective thriller
The Insider (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0140352/) - Pacino, Crowe, true story corporate thriller
Raise The Red Lantern (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101640/) - Mandarin. Probably my favourite foreign film, truly amazing and politically charged
+1, but it has to be the subtitled version.
Obviously, I don't see the point of watching a dubbed foreign film.
Anime series in particular are ruined by dumb american accents!

The Langoliers
Very surreal or just plain weird, can't decide. Show's just how warpped Stephen King's mind is!

+1 for that ... awesome soundtrack too ;-)
although, if like me, you bought the soundtrack on CD then you may be a little disappointed by one of the tracks - "Everybody knows" ... it's NOT the same version that is used in the movie!!!! :smt013
Anyway ... here's my recommendation ... Secretary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0274812/)
Bit of a weird/risque (and slightly disturbing at times) movie, but well worth it.

Look out for a film called Black Sheep - a film about zombie sheep, made in New Zealand - funniest thing I have watched in ages & effects are very good too as they were done by Weta Workshop.

Quatermass and the Pit
Journey to the Center of the Earth
ANYTHING with effects by Ray Harryhousen

Donnie Darko is great, and Papillion & Dog Soldiers as well.
