Does the standard can come with a link pipe etc?

no, sorry, the can is just on its own, but you can get a connecting pipe easily from ebay or halfords (car section, exhaust repair, and there is cheap ajustable diameter piping (about 20cm long) which is all you need and a lot cheaper.)
