Where does it get spent?

I dont know too much about all this, im hoping some of you will be able to get some stats to show where it all goes. From what i hear there is only about 20-30% of road tax going into roads.

If this is correct then why are we not paying 20-30% of what we are, i mean after all we are driving on roads which arnt much better than 3rd world countries for Christs sake!

On top of this insult to us drivers we pay about 70p per litre of fuel to the government! Where does all this go? To the dole scum?

Doesnt it make you feel good that you are paying so much more tax than people who dont work ro drive, so they dont have to work or drive?

Right im getting down from my  box now.

Not sure about road tax, but £40bn gets collected from road users each year (road tax, fuel duty etc) and only £7bn gets put back into transport alone, let alone roads.

...and motorway costs £30million a mile to construct. It doesn't go far!
