View Full Version : Finally! I have a NEW MOTYSICKLE! Is a green one...
1998 Kwak ZX9R in green, full Micron pipework with Scorpion end can
Well, picked the little bugger up last night and rode home. What a hoot! Gotta get used to the new riding position and the general largeness of it, plus the fact that it has the turning circle of the QE2 compared to my little SV. The brother is coming some time this afternoon to pick up his SV now it's working correctly, might pop to the ace this afternoon if anyone fancies it.

WOW!
You must be doing backflips with excitement!
And changing your undies more regularly as it's a bit (just a little) quicker than Julia is/was?!
You must be doing backflips with excitement!
Please just don't, the engine's plenty good enough for that to happen :D
Good work Jamie, look forward to seeing it soon when I start having social time again....

oh yes!! at last, very nice mate!! tail tidy the 1st port of call for it?
Congratulations on your new purchase! It's certainly a Kwak, no doubt about that. Two words. Crash bungs. I don't want to tempt fate but just don't, you know, Macbeth. Hope you're having fun on it.
Need some  to look at it!
I don't know where I got the phrase from but "Top one, nice one, get sorted!"
:smt106
Nice bike man.
Wish I could afford the insurance on something like that.
Insurance was a whole £20 more than for the sv. Same level of cover just more excess. The bike's had to go back for some work as it wasn't running right. I've got a cbf600 for the mo, which isn't quite as exciting...
:smt022Gonna be on the CBF until at least Wednesday. Apparently the mechanic has it running "sweet as a nut" but wants to test ride it for a day or two to be sure it's bomb-proof before I come get it again, and he's off work until wednesday. He's gonna be running my bike around for a couple of days on his days off and hopefully then I'll get a call telling me to come pick it up.
[-o<[-o<[-o< Please lord, deliver me from this blandness and into your warm, Kawasaki embrace...
I'm sure if it had been anyone else they would probably have just said tough luck.

How does it compare to ride?
Yeah, what he said.
I'm thinking about one myself so it'd be good to hear what someone who isn't a spoilt moto journo thinks.:p
I'll let you know when I get it back and it's working again. So far the suspension feels nicer already (even though it's set for someone of about reasonable human weight rather than me) and the riding position seems really comfy for a sporty bike. The top-end is absolutely lovely, really rich spread of power. I'll post more once I know!
oh yes!! at last, very nice mate!! tail tidy the 1st port of call for it?
What you talking about?
It's been done already AFAICS.
Jaimie looks great mate.
You & me could both do with crash bungs tho' - but don't drop it and you won't simple really.
Enjoy when you get it back & check the mileage!
