Hope you've got a spare engine handy!

Long power wheelies = oil starvation to the front cylinder = BANG!!!

Just over a minute into the film you are wheelying past a junction.
If somebody was to pull out of that junction and because your front was in the air all he saw (if anything) was a dark mass his excuse would have been "sorry mate I didn't see you".
How many times have we heard this and thought, B0llocks you blind git.
Just be careful please.

haha yeah i agree with that up their, i did go past a junction, i was just a bit wheely happy at the time with getting the new camera mount.
and long power wheelies, their not power ones. clutch up in second then ride them through the gears.

and i prefer to scrape knee myself.
i keep my wheelies to the industrial estates now :)
like the long ones were i am 2 up.
thats my play road.

Power wheelies or not you are still draining all of the oil out of the front cylinder. It will go bang as it did to someone else on the forum.

Just a friendly warning!

Shame you had to speed up the camera footage to make it look quicker...............

The_Noose
26-11-07, 05:13 PM
haha only on one section, to get to the wheelie, and haha make it luck quicker, maybe you didnt see the part were i was draggin both knees on the bands, nevermind hey ;)

and humnn yeah it does drain alot of oil i must say, i keep on top of it, but yeah i know were your cuming from.
hope it dusnt happen.

It was Davido who blew his engine up on wheelying. All good fun but keep it safe, eh!

Stig

None of those wheelies apart from maybe the last one, would be considered a 'long' wheelie. Certaintly not long enough to starve the the front of oil.

Ahh but.....!

No danger of blowing the SV engine by doing the long wheelie at the end either.

Done on a Hornet600. ;)

Only a total idiot would post video of him and his mates doing wheelies and KD on public road where the numberplates are clearly visible (even without its not hard to track you through your youtube subscription)!!! :stupid:

I suggest you take that off youtube before you get a knock at the door! =;

haha well thats gud mate, their long enough for me to enjoi them and for people at my local bike meets to be impressed with, so am happy.
i dont pratice wheelies as much as i would like.
i prefer corners really.
is their a video of this guy doin his wheelies cause ive hardly seen any videos of sv wheelies, never met anyone who can wheelie theirs.

Fatster
26-11-07, 09:27 PM
anyone can lift a bike its keeping it up and going up the gears is were the skill is at. I can wheelie up the gears on me sv400s so the 650 should be easy....

Agree with Blue 100% thats was a dumb thing to do, you know there are people out there that don't like bikers and to do that in public really doesn't help.

If you must do it, do it off the road doing wheelies down the wrong side of wrong side of the road, past junctions yeah just great. Impressed no.

Nah, the problem comes when the oil level drops below the pickup tube, starving the oil pump itself of oil, the big end bearing seems to die first. (it being about the most heavily stressed on the engine IMO)
Heard of several cases, one of which has got me a spare engine, I'll give you a more definitive answer of damamge when I strip it.

You've got skills Noose but no brains.

+1
Stop thinking with your bellend, if you're even thinking about whats going to impress the guys at the bike meets then you need to chill the f### out and stop showing off. Ego is a powerful thing, you look like you need to take it on a track, or in a ring, or anywhere with no pedestrians.

haha i knew i would get flamed alot with this video.

its not so much what you are doing (nod to the skills) its where you are doing it, or as would appear in the video. If you reinforce the notion to cage drivers that we are all nutters, then they are less likely to be careful or curtious to those who choose to ride within the law. as you say try keep your skills to deserted industrial estates or empty B roads. Picking the right time, is to me the most important skill.

Again, nice wheellies though.

Give him a break, I doubt he rides everywhere like that. I'm sure we've all done daft things at some point (especially when there's a video camera around;))

Nice wheelies though :)

Yea, rubberduck is right - you are good to stand up to all this backlash. BTW, although I dont find wheelie videos particularly intersting, it was some good stuff, for what it was

Just be safe, and dont do it on public roads. It might seem clever at the time etc etc what everyone else has reccomended.

Noose, you've taken the backlash on the chin, good work. Would like to see more fella, you've clearly got some skills. Maybe some stand ups at a quiet industrial estate or something? :)

That is all it needs, rip that video down before it gets you (The_Noose) in trouble. It is so stupid on so many levels, The_Noose is only going to get finger wagging with that vid … [-X

The_Noose - make another vid in a more sensible place (sure - a deserted industrial estate) and we can all concentrate on your/your mates mates 'skills' not your stupidity ;)

thankx guys.
i knew their would be some good karma through this.
and yeah when the video camera is on my head goes a little nutty.
dont worry i am generally a sensible rider. only 1 crsh in 3 yrs, i went into a bent to fast and ran wide, hit the curb fully leaned over at knee down.
if u go back to the video on page 1 and look through my other videos their is a video of the sv650 upside down in a ditch :(
ahh well i actually prefer it streetfighterd aposed to full fairings, it handles better and damn the front end is light.

and haha blue i dont have any trackday footage, being 19 generally means not enough money for them but al have sum good road footage ;)
gotta luv the twisties.

Er, I requested you do another wheelie/stopie/KD vid, just make sure it is not done on the queens highway, you don't need money for that .... just a deserted industrial estate/supermarket carpark >4pm Sunday ;)

The_Noose
27-11-07, 04:02 PM
hahahaha theirs always one to pick out a mistake, but haha it was a funny one :)
and yeah we go the southport park and ride every wednesday night, even in this cold we have at the moment after meeting at the local bike pub for a warm bru and a gud chat, still get around 20 of us going for a play. its all gud fun.

yeah i mainly keep my stunts for long back roads.. or car parks as yee said.

nice track video blue!! that gixxer was 5hite for corner speed!! lol

I dunno, he wasn't THAT slow round the corners (when I am up his chuff, look at his lean angles - and he was overtaking a few people) ... sure I did have the better of him a bit in the turns and on the brakes, but much of the time, he just wasn't able to pick a different line if someone was parked on the one he normally used ... that is where I really capitalised ;)

The_Noose
28-11-07, 12:42 PM
your lines looked alot better blue.
thats were i thought you were able to get him, and by outbraking him aswell.

Not a big wheelie fan (Ok, it's because I can't do them OK :D) but nice KDs Noose.

Blue, that GSXR was a rocket on the straights but he lost a lot on the brakes to you.

so is your machine 33BHP restricted noose? nice KD liking that remember though 6 points and its a ban £120 and a retest in the first two years of owning a Full licence.,, what is it for a restricted licence? i dont know but had a copper been at the junction you would back to wheeleing your mountain bike now lol,

yorkie_chris
30-11-07, 03:02 PM
6 points are you sure?

As for restricted license its the same as being in your first 2 years, so 6 points means you need to retake your test same as if you had done DAS.

so i was told mate.. 6 points in the first two years then it goes to court where if you loose then its a ban and a re test, starting from your pass date of your full test not your CBT

Yes I understand that one.

Was wondering about 6 points for knee down, why is it seen as so bad?

on the road a KD would be classed as dangerous driving... you'd probably get away with it if it was to stop you from crashing ;)
but a wheelie.. you wouldnt have a chance
