Damn looks like an oil slip to me, judging by the **** loads of dust on the track following the same line as the sliding bike.

Any off track excursion at Paddock hill bend often results in an expensive repair bill. I've never seen anyone go into paddock gravel trap and come back out...

"hey, guys!!!! little help!!!!! wait...dont go...come back!!!!"

Actualy, I lie. I've seen one guy go into that gtravel trap and just keep it upright, still stalled the bike though. But thats the one and only time I've seen someone come out, and it was a bit of a pathetic wobble into the kitty litter.

Most fearsome crash I've seen was the one where Hizzy broke his neck, wsb in 2002, i think. Might have been 2001, i dont remember the year. Was very scary.

That's Jamie Cooper and his famous pile of crap 350LC - he's a good mate of mine from the next village. He's one of the lads who comes racing with me and my mate Danny Imberg and he's a member of the unofficial "Team Airtight" (Motto: If it don't smoke, we don't ride), of which I am head mechanic. Jamie's racing a TZR250 in YPMs again next year, and might do some classic races on his dad's bike too.

That crash was caused by the engine seizing just as he exited Paddock Hill Bend, added to the fact that he was trying just that little bit too hard. Anyway, he came away unharmed, and the next day he was back out racing on a borrowed TZR250 that they drove to Colchester to collect in the middle of the night. It only cost 200 quid to repair the LC and he's been trying to sell it to Tori, my ex who is going racing next season. That LC is bloody fast, but looks a complete pile of crap. I think Jamie got the honour of having the 2nd fastest original (non-YPVS) 4LO 350LC in YPMs last year and ended the season having got into the top 7 in a couple of races. Not bad for a rookie.

It was racing 2 weeks later, with a replacement frame. He'd only fitted that lovely looking RS250 tailpiece the day before smashing it.

Just looked at some results from the last round ... he DNFs a lot doesn't he!! :D

My mate did that last round on a hire RD350LC, he is looking to doing next season, possibly on a YPM, if he does, then I'll support him and bearing in mind how incestuous the YPM lot are there is a good chance we will bump into each other in the paddock :)

He does, mainly through engine troubles. The bike is fast, but at the beginning of the season it wasn't reliable. Later in the season he was DNFing because he was crashing.

Be a laugh if we do. Jamie's not overly popular in the paddock, his riding style is regarded as a little bit...wild, and the TZR boys weren't happy that an old nail of a 350LC was getting the better of most of them.

One to watch for next season is Pete Lawrence on a white/red 4LO 350LC. Nicely prepped bike with TZR forks, TZR wheels, R1 front brake and a Bob Farnham engine.

Yep, you can have them, I sold the RD years ago, so they are no use to me any more!! :( If you don't take them, then they will sit there until they bio-degrade!! :D

Haha, I spent £430 on a Simpson helmet because it looked cool, and still rode everywhere in jeans and trainers. Wearing my leather jacket was a rarity - must have been cold that day cos I was usually in a nylon paddock jacket.

£430 22 years ago ... that'd be like buying what ... a £700 lid now?!!? that musta cost more than the bike!! :D

Nooo. That bike cost me a bloody fortune. It was never off the road for more than a week at a time with any modification I did. Astralite wheels with one off machined from solid cast iron rear drum, Metmachex swing arm, Power-Valve engine with Beckett proddy tune and 32mm Mikuni Powerjets, Swarbrick pipes, Dream Machine paint (when it was worth having), rearsets etc etc. It ended up with Lockheed front race brakes and Power-Valve F1 forks as well.

I reckon, with engine rebuilds and the one-off bits it had made and adapted, that bike set me back about 6 grand over the 3 years I was building it and using it. I could have put that money towards a decent bike.

My god woman, I presume you would have to send me a cheque and everything, can’t be bothered with that or going down the PO to post them!!

Tell you what, I'm set to be going to that minimoto place at hullivingdon (sp) this weekend (Sunday) if you are about/not too far from there, then I can chuck them in and you can pick them up from there :)

Like I said, you can have 'em ... be nice to think they get used :)
