I want to retract a bid on eBay  … I know it can be done, but what effect does it have on me?? i.e. feedback future bidding etc?

No affect just put a reasonable excuse in. Don't leave it until the last minute.

I don't think you can leave feedback unless you have actually purchased/sold something.

I have done it a few times to no ill affect.

You can only do it outside the last 24hrs of the auction as I found out :(

I don't get any 'withdrawn bids' bad/black marks anywhere in my history then?? … item has >24h to run :)

I think it will say that you have retracted xx bids in the last 6 months, but doubt anyone will really take any notice of that I rarely do.

What are you bidding on? and why are you retracting?

Its all good, I contacted the guy and he retracted my bid!! :)

Oh and I accidentally bid on the wrong item on sale by the same bloke ... to many windows open ... and was distracted mid-bid!!

I did it once when I accidently bid £1500 for something when I meant £15.00:D
