Ok so it is that time of year again ... which of you tend to make a wally of yourselves annually at this juncture ... and who just tries to fade away in the background ... wishing they were at home, not out with their work colleagues’ ... ;)

i while back, we had our xmas dinner & dance in the poshist hotel in cardiff (the park hotel) and was a black tie thing, as the boss was a millionaire

anywho....... there was about 5 of us that got hammered, i then tried to climb the 20foot xmas tree, i fell....... the tree also fell and landed on me

we did not have the xmas do there the following year

ive been invited to my works xmas doo but never go i refuse to pay 25 quid to ave a slap up carvery and pay 3.90 a pint.

Actually, that's not exactly true. Most of us get on but there's a large clash of ego's between certain individuals that only gets worse when alcohol is added.

Got mine tonight.

Everyone on the team gets along and the big bosses' are being chucked into the mix too. As it's potentially my last evening of shananigans with this group of people before I (hopefully) start new job in the New Year, tonight I will mostly be get smashed and abusing senior management. I'm the 'cheeky' one in the group so hopefully I'll get away it. If i don't - who gives a shnit ?? :D

Only ever been to one proper one 3 years ago, ended up in holpital with a broken noise. For the record 4 stella snakebites after many shots of whisky is not a good idea.

Got my second one tonight and I am planning have very few drinks. Apart from anything the last one everyone was young so they laughed, I am now apparently a professional and people wont laugh. The big boss is there as well.

Actually were talking about when they go wrong last night at work, it can end up with da party group ending up in a fight with the local old bill, which just is bad and wrong, for those that know me, not the best thing to happen!

The majority of the parties I have been to recently have involved me getting very drunk, one year I managed to be pucking everywhere by 1pm in the afternoon I was very drunk!

I didn't have a party last year, casuse I had just come back travelling...I don't intend to make up for it!

For birthday last year, went went ofr food I went to the pub and threw up every where, I haven't been back to that bar since, the state of the bathroom was just nasty!

Its no wonder I have decided that drinking less is probally a good idea!

I am told that some like it up the spinnaker, some don't ... depends on the person really ... :D

Its not uncommon to close ones eyes when taken up the spinnaker ...

To add fun to my fire, i've just found out that alchole is not supplied without charge. So happy xmas, on a thursday, in a travel inn, without free drink, sharing with other firms and other support departments. Travel home is to be paid for by us, and expected to be in work the next day.

HR, Marketting though, get their own place, free drinks, and taxi service home....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. And they are wondering why people are pulling out willy nilly when they found out theres no free drink.

Our official company one is in February :roll: but I won't be going as all the different departments just end up fighting. The dept i'm working in at the moment is going out for a meal this Friday though, looking forward to that :D

I've never been to an officialy organised do where there hasn't been any arguments / fighting so I don't bother any more, the informal ones organised amongst ourselves are always much better.
