I had a look there are just under 9000 active petitions, most of them as far as I can see are just rubbish.

Does anyone still watch Top Gear anyway?

It's funny, but it's meaningless petitions like this that reduce the value of real petitions on that site.

Still reckon he should be PM ;)

That's a really good point actually - If only i'd thought of that first!

I think the question should be "Who doesn't watch Top Gear?"

Perhaps I should ask why watch it?

There's no bikes on there and if you aint into cars why bother. I'm surprised there's enough room in the studio for Clarkson's ego and a camera crew, never mind a studio audience.

Waste of licence payers money.

The BBC bosses aren't clowns, IMO its the only car show that appeals to a mass auidence. It must pull the ratings otherwise it wounldn't be on a prime time slot, also commercial channels regualy play repeats.

I like the fact TG dosent to bikes, the top gear challenges are great but always staged. Fifth gear is much better for that stuff, 2 racing drivers/riders a race circuit and proper quick equipment. Apart from long way round/down stuff there is never going to be a market for a prime time bike slot.

IMO top gear is one of those programs you don't actually need to be a petrolhead to watch, its funny enough just with the banter and amusing challenges.

There's another petition running for JC NOT to be Prime Minister. Only 18 people have signed it so far. Probably all by Piers Morgan.

And for the record, I think Top Gear is completely stupid and quite probably the best thing on tv today.

Top Gear is a great show but I was surprised my 10 year old daughter not had only heard of it but thought it was great as its old men acting like boys and it makes her laugh to see how silly we can still be!

Because Clarkson could present a programme about rusty mousetraps and make it funny. He is a brilliant writer too. try and read his books and watch his programs instead of worrying that he once said he doesn't like bikes.

Reading don't stop me now at the moment, its great.

Theres nothing even implying any anti-bike sentiment so far, I've read most of his books and theres nothing of that ilk either.

He does write quite a few bits about not liking bikes or bikers. Mainly because he hates groups of bikers riding on the fast roads near his home, sounding like swarms of giant wasps. He also hates how stupid bikers look in power-ranger type leathers (must admit he's got a point there).

Takes the p**s out of pro-bike Hammond quite a lot too, like when he wanted to put the new Ducati on the cool wall.

Despite that I think he's a genius and very funny. He's also great for the image of Engineering as a subject / career, and as a Professional Engineer who's struggled to recruit decent staff I'm all for that.

A fair point, still looks ace. A bit of a mad car when all the rest are going all soft and EU about everything.
