Hi everyone - newbie here and hoping that someone can confirm my thinking.
I've had my SV650S K2 for 2 months now. Unfortunately I broke my ankle (not on the bike!!, but stupidly rode back to Cardiff from Leicester before getting it checked out) last week so can't ride, drive or generally do anything!
I went out to give the bike a start today and hit some problems.
Initially it started with half choke and ran ok but a little rough, it settled and kept going with the choke off, but as soon as any throttle was applied it stalled.
Now it won't start with or without choke. After having a scan through here and some other sites I came across the fuel filler / water problem.
On opening the filler sure enough there is a lovely pool of water which poored straight into the tank :(
So my guess is this has probably happened before and fuel is contaminated and probably some blocks some where. So I'm guessing it will need a strip down and drain as per the "water in fuel" doc and then try and sort out the drain hose.
Does everyone think the same? or am I missing something?
On a separate note the bike is going to be stood for the next 5 weeks - any advice on things to do to try and make that as painless as possible for it!
Cheers for any help
Mike
