whats the best rear seat cowl? (Curvey)

heya. ive got a 01 curvey and rele like the look of the seat cowls but there are a few to choose from. i want one thats easy to change bk to the original seat. i quite like the look of the ermax one as it leaves the pillion seat on the bike and just covers it. any one had any expirence with these? any help would be much appriciated. scott :)

I would choose the Suzuki one myself, it cost £45, comes in every OEM colour and is a perfect fit.

It replaces the seat completely and simple clicks on just as easy as the seat. Most don't like it because it retains the rear grab rail, but you can get fillers that cover the hole left when the handle is removed.

I think that the most common would be Pyramid, it is of good quality and the colour match is perfect. This does have to have the grab rail removed for it to be fitted.

are you sure? i thought the pointy one was £45, but the curvy was closer £80?

Your right Hovis, Suzuki has listed it as £81 for the curvy seat cowl on their website....

Shh... don't tell the dealers cos I just collected my neighbours on my way back from work this morning (£45). It is a curvy cowl, it is the right shade of blue, and it fits a dream. Either they are selling them cheaper now, or the 'big' dealer made a mistake!

Can you get like a back pad for the Official Suzuki one as ive got one in blue and where i carry a ruck sack on it its getting scratched badly and quickly so i would like to get one if theres one about something like the one that pyramids one has?!

There OEM seat cowls are available from Suzuki dealers, you can order on the Suzuki website (under accessories) and collect at a dealership. Like I said previously, it is advertised as £81 on the website but we only paid £45 when we ordered through a dealer. Going to the dealer might be a better option. There were three on Ebay yesterday, Silver, Pearl Canyon Yellow (early yellow), and Pearl Lively Yellow (later yellow).

No. I have seen an SV with the racing seat foam used as a back support. This however didn't go over the top of the cowl like pyramids. I wear a rucksack often on the SV and never have a problem with it touching the cowl. I do the straps up tight so the rucksack doesn't flap in the wind or shift about when loaded, I am 6'1 so it might just be an issue for shorter riders.

Aye, tbh if your bag's big enough and heavy enough to be a problem here it's probably also big enough and heavy enough to snap you like a breadstick if you land on it in an accident :cool: But we're getting off the question... You could buy some rubber foam from somewhere like Frosts or VWP and just stick it on top, it'd be a bit of a shame I think but it'd do the job. Or, something like ventureshield paint protection film would probably help too.

Just a quick update.... Apparently there is a very, very limited supply left of Suzuki's curvy seat cowls in the Suzuki warehouse. However, TCP may still be able to get you one in your chosen colour.
