I had to go to the doctors surgery today and as is normal had to sit and wait for some time, I was wondering I have a coule of books in PDF format on usb flash drives, what would be the smallest cheapest way to veiw these without having a laptop with me ?
is there something out there that'll take a USB drive and display PDF's ?
Cheers Mark.

A palm Z22 PDA is only about 60 quid and will take software to read pdf's such as PalmPDF. It will sync with a PC via USB for you to copy on PDF files. It only has 20MB of usable memory though and it's not expandable, so I don't know how big your PDF's are, but if it's a black and white text only,
perhaps one book would fit on.
Alternatively I'm sure you could get one of the higher range palm pda's or smartphones on ebay with a memory card slot.

I picked up my Dell PDA from ebay. It cost me £80 but comes with Bluetooth, WiFi, a fast processor and an SD card slot, which currents holds a 4GB memory card. I use mine for GPS and a few other things (games, writing documents when I'm out etc).
To do what you want, I'd spend about £30 - £40 on ebay and get one without the fancy extras (bluetooth, etc) but does what you want. Or alternatively, get yourself one with TomTom and use it as Sat Nav too (Make sure it has Bluetooth if you want to use it on the bike).
Adobe do a PDF reader for PDAs and I use it on mine regularly.
This was probably more information than you wanted, but if you want any more, drop me a PM.
