Just a couple of weeks ago here in Spain i was watching a programme all about various types of road accidents and their causes etc. In the programme they showed several bike test crashes and it was only on viewing them that something dawned on me.......certainly on a side impact in to say a car, the roof of the vehicle is at a scarey height for the rider of the bike as far as head and neck are concerned. I had never really thought about it before.

Or alternatively, don't tailgate then jump out of the blind spot, like a knob. But if you must, and someone does pull out, don't bottle it and start to slow, instead complete your maneouvre under power and get by effortlessly in the available space.

That said, that's another crash vid that shook me right up, since it reminded me so much of one of my own- though in mine it was my own fault, this totally brought back the memory of frantically trying to keep upright in the gravel.
