View Full Version : How gay are you?
Well I did it again, and I went from 56% to 53%, supposedly I'm very open minded between the sheets and just as balanced when out on the streets...

as a side issue, any of you lovely "Gay" folk going to London Pride this weekend?
Carol and I will be attending and we are heading up on Silvie, because there is really nothing more sexy than two dykes on a bike! :smt049
Was out and about last night getting a Chinese for dinner when we had to walk past a group of mid fifties guys, all balding, all with their little pot bellies and all slightly amused by their own pathetic jokes. The jokes as we passed (holding hands because I refuse to be ashamed of my gayness! :smt038) were really rather juvenile and crass. Still I had the last laugh, after all, I do get to sleep with a lesbian! :makelurve:
:-$, just don't tell my Mum!

You are quite right, Dyke is a horrible word and I do apologise. :smt105
I think that it is a word that has unpleasant roots, often used as a term of abuse against gay women. In our community there are many words used to describe the people who take part in Pride. The London Pride March is an expression of our pride in being true to ourselves. It is an event that is open to the lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities as well as our friends, families and even our employers and is just a big happy event to celebrate diversity, tolerance and acceptance.

I shall have to break the news to Mrs Dan. :cyclopsani:

It's only a word. I find it strange that people of a certain persuasion are allowed to use words that others aren't ie, lesbians calling themselves dykes, gay men calling themselves queer or poofs, black people calling themselves th 'N' word (I daren't, even on a relatively anonymous forum) etc etc.

Although I used the word in a form of humour about myself, I felt that I may have caused a minor offence to some one who held strong views on the subject and felt that maybe an apology would be appropriate.
I can assure you that just words can be damaging when used in a hateful context. I am considering at the moment a possible case against an employer who allowed me to suffer continued homophobic abuse in the work place that lead in the end to a violent assault against me. Some people are just not very good at the whole tolerance thing! :smt017
See y'all at Pride... :smt038

I totally agree. I wasnt complaining about Jayne using it, I just found it odd as it aint a nice thing to say... But yes all this equality is going the other way now. :smt017

Hetrosexuals allowed too I take it? I mean I accept things as they are and all that. Have a few Gay friends... A couple of which fancy me. Its a little strange when your friend looks at you like they do... LOL.

Thank you Shellywoozle, hope that the wedding goes well, don't forget though is you don't like one of the happy couple, wait until the question of anyone knowing of any reason why they can't tie the knot and accuse them of bigamy! Always goes down well... :smt081
As for Pride, we are meeting up with a load of friends after, so it is a short sharp sprint to London, spend the day marching and then it is back home again to get smacked out of our skulls on a three day drug fuelled bender... OK, so I lied, we are going to sit around drinking tea and chatting like a knitting circle, but the first one sounded better... :smt038
As for an Org Orgy, it may have a nice ring to it, but I don't do rings, not since my last one popped! :smt017
