Hey guys. Didnt know where to post the "hi im a noob" thread so I guess i will put it here! I am 19 years old, from Inkberrow near worcester and recently bought my 05 plate sv650s. had it for about 2 months now and love it. Just ordered my fuel s/s oval exhaust!
mods already done-
-red/carbon bar ends
-mini arrow indicators
-xenon headlights
So not alot but for a 19 year old funds arent plentiful! Heres some pics that are about a month old.
When the weather picks up I would really like to get involved with the big ride outs and meets so I figured joining this forum would help me in that aspect :)

No no no, yellow is the fast colour. And curvy is the fast shape. Combine the two, and you get a machine suzuki where more fearful of it killing people than the TL1000s. Hovis will agree, he downgraded to a honda fireblade
Oh yea, fuel exhaust - i got one fitted; lovely sound!!!!! Dunno what its like with the baffle in though

Woo Hoo.....another person who lives nearby. I live in Naunton Beauchamp, 5 miles away. That close enough? There is another red pointy that I often pass in Pershore, so we have ourselves a mini club already!!! Welcome to the site, the info from people on here is so invaluable. Drew

Yeah I know where that is. I am just about to get kitted up and go for a little blast I think. spent 2 hours yesterday cleaning it but hey ho they arent meant to sit in a garage looking pretty!

This is true, I however unfortunatley have the pleasure of being at work today, otherwise I'd be out also. Only passed 2 months ago and have clocked up about 1800 miles on it so far!!!!

Had mine since start of september. Had 2500 miles on it, was an ex demo bike. Managed to get them down to £2995 for it. Bargain if you ask me! Done about 2000 miles on it so far. Weather has been too poor really to have any fun.

Yup, been rubbish, but as I am now without a car, I get to enjoy the ride to and from work every day and have a big smile on my face at all times. If you ever fancy meeting and having a ride off somewhere let me know.

I dont have a car either. Sold it to get my bike :smt108 I ride to work everyday which is in Stratford at the VW garage. So its always a laugh going up the Alcester bypass ;) Yeah wouldnt mind going for a little ride out when its not throwing it down.

Haha pointy is faster yes but like Red owns all colors? Or is it because im 19 my reactions are alot faster than other "old man" SV riders :D
*insert reply from older SV riders about how cheeky I am*

Lol. I could sit here and say "Blue Pointy's are the fastest". But I'd be lying, in someone else's hands maybe, but with the weather we are having I'd happily say "My Blue Pointy is one of the slowest". But I will agree with the view that pointy's generally are the best.

Soft sods!!!!! So......any other pointy owners going to respond (Whilst I hide before the big northern wild monkey comes and beats me with his curvey.....if he can get it to start what with the Carb Icing up in that there north). If you are a nice kind, pointy owner from the North then this statement does not apply!!!!

Thats ok then....I just had to add that statement so that I don't suddenly get lots of peeps from up north giving me a bashing.....if a curvy owner then fully justified. Anyway, thread going major off topic. Welcome to the Org

Just come back off my little ride out. Roads were dry for once. Although I did notice when I got back the winter is starting to take its toll! My bike is growing white fur on some of its little bits so going to try and sor that out :smt108

Keep it rinsed down with plenty of warm water (dissolves any solt and carries it away). If you park it outside, then invest in a good cover (I would say oxford stormex....its ok, but i reckon theres better). Some poeple on here spray a protective layer of ACF50 to protect their bikes components through the winter.

I have the acf-50 spray for my bike! It seems ok right now, I hosed down the bike yesterday as well, towash away salt and other road crap, I give it a clean to remove anymore salt left on it in the next few days, but since it has acf-50 on it i hope there shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't worry about going slow in this weather, my back end slipped out the other day, so I'll stick with being slower while tyres are that cold! it isn't going to change anytime soon!
Pointy, curvery bike, makes no diffence, you will always love your the bike the most, also well blue (as in my name) there ya go.
