Whats yours?
The warm feeling I got when I saw all those SV's lined up in Morrisons car park during the AR, or maybe my leathers has sprung a leak.....
And my favourite thread of the year?
Has to be Kinvig and his 35 pager about the female builder.....:takeabow:
Merry Christmas all.
Gordon
Probably me "scent marking" while marking on the AR thinking only a couple of people would go past and having 90% of the riders pass me...

Although I've not had a great year and good moments have been few and far between, I think the one that sticks out is something I aimed at for a long time and worked really hard to achieve, summed up by this picture I guess.

AR07 for me, meeting a lot of you for the first time, was also my first proper biking event having only had a license a month or 2 at the time.
Also hardy bikers ridout on the motorway, I was at the back and it was an awesome sight and sound.
Coming back from hardy bikers with smudge, the roads were dry and I was in the mood for a hoon, finding out about mels off in the main group when I got home put a bit of a dampener on it though.
the ecosse weekend to aviemore.
despite the incidents, tail pack on fire, all clothes ruined, exhaust falling off, chain too loose, forgotten back packs, sharing a bunkhouse with some noisy snoring guys.
it was a brilliant weekend. weather was crap, roads were fantastic, drunken exploits were hilarious.
roll on next year, need to be earlier on in season though

Wondering how plowsie ran over his own foot. Not a good moment at the time, but when you look back on it...how did he do that?!
I also liked the thread about Kinvig's lust for the builder lady
Matt
07 was not a particulary good year in the BigApe household.
Didn't go on a single .org rideout. Was by far too much of a stranger of the Soho Massive.
Hoping for better this year.

Making it to the N/S Ride, despite writing off my bike two weeks before. Meeting folks I now consider friends at that meet.
Still being on here despite not having an SV (for now).

The best meeting all you guys from here, the end of summer/season rideout it rained all day but it was ace, my first rideout just awesome!
Also this place makes me laugh, which is great, good banter,

Gotta be the Invasion of the Valleys for me as it was the first group ride I'd been on, and the first time I'd met anyone off of here (although the downside was meeting Hovis). The final leg of this ride was the best part as I got to follow and (just) keep up with some impressive riders.
We didn't make the AR07 so my favourite org moment apart from seeing everyone at the wedding the the Housewarming BBQ Eviltwin, Spider and Hooligan Dan on the bikes i shall say no more
Didnt make N/S or AR07 but enjoyed the Catherine Wheel where all met in Mcdonalds at Ripon. A good day out had by all

the ecosse weekend to aviemore.
+1, was a good night, even if I couldn't make the rideout and had to get there in the cage.
Does end of 2006 count? Don't know if there was a thread like this last year. I thought lining our bikes up across the 18th fairway at St Andrews on the ice cream run in Nov 06 was pretty cool!

so many..............
the nurburging is a winner for me though, closley followed by north/south, fartfest & invasion of the valleys
i did not enjoy AR07
AR 07 was a bit of a special weekend for me but equally as good was the N Wales rideout 2 and coming down the last stretch of the road into Llanberis in semi darkness with Snowdon looming on the left and Elidr fawr on the right and sitting in Petes eats watching the video of Hovis from the invasion of the valleys riding an elephant and getting shouted at by the barmaid 'will someone please get him off that elephant'! :-D. I just hope next year is as good, looking forward to meeting a load more of you and having a larf :D roll on 2008

For me it was a quiet pint in Ullapool at the end of a great days ride from Fort William via Skye. Dicky Ticker brought the Essex Lounge up to John O'Groats and the three days I joined them for were among the best of my 20 odd biking years.
This particular day was grey and then the sun came out and then it was cloudy and then it belted down with rain and then the sun came out again! The scenery, the roads (A890!!), the weather, the bikes, the people, just wonderful. Thanks Org.
Anyway, here's me and Baldy Man having aforementioned quiet pint...

I didnt do too much "fun biking" But i did ride to work and back every day
And i wimped out of AR cos it was way too rainy for my spandex suit. :cyclopsani:
So my best moment has to have been our France Day Trip. We had everything on the day, from our rideout leader (Lucky) having to pull out due to selling his bike, his bike being on the rideout with the guy who bought it on it, -2 degrees in the morning getting kitted up & on the bike to a sweaty 25 odd degrees in the heart of our ride in France. Sexy French ladies to chat to and such decent drivers who seemed more concerned abut bikes being able to pass them than anything else! We even had an earthquake happen while we waited for our Chunnel train  Tho Supervox didnt feel a thing and he was standing right next to me
Took my 2 favourite pics of the year on that rideout, these.

Defo the AR07. Hitting Bambi and failing to deliver it for the bbq. Poor Melody and Chris witnessing the whole thing from behind me. All I could think of at that moment was ' oh poo, mels gonna be put off biking for life...keep riding..no square wheels, no flat tyre,.....pooooooooooooooooo, oh my god me new boots n pants are all red, sh1it better stop, oh no shouldn't have done that' i'm going to cry, don't do that you'll look soft......oh poo you just hit a deer you dizzzy cow. Chris and mell got off their bikes so quick when I eventually stopped riding........are you alright lou??? yeah( shaking very much) god that were a right tankslapper....
It got worse for me through the AR cause my bike wouldn't go more than 50mph up a hill and sounded like a swarm of bees cannoning out of the exhaust. Another moment was Sid Squid thrying to fix it under a giant plastic bag in the field while it was hammering it down. Im Indoors' bike blew up when we got home too. On inspection the deer didn't do any damage to mine funnily enough.
Awww, the AR a warm fuzzy feeling, and a grin from ear to ear, when you think of all us mad gits that braved that awful weather to spend a weekend together:colors::cheers:

.......are you alright lou??? yeah
Thats gotta be the weirdest thing I've said this year:
"F### me dizzy, you've just cut bambi in half"!
this year has been amazing for me.
i left everything i knew behind in australia and moved to London,
i bought my first v twin and taught myself how to tackle an english roundabout. (i've always had inline 4's)
i learnt how to master your crazy filtering.
i met a whole bunch of lovely people on here, and have done some amazing roads and seen some wonderful things.
its a whole new experience when you ride down a road that some of you have probably been riding all your lives, but for me everything has been an amazing brand new experience and i loved nearly every minute!
i go home soon but i will be leaving so much behind, i doubt i will be home for long before i end up coming back. and alot of it is thanks to me joining this damned forum in the first place!

You do have the internet in Australia, don't you? You know you can still go on the forums from Oz, don't you? :-D
We've had some terrific debates on here, the best I think was this one, about emigration:

The AR was my best .org moment, and the SV Ecosse aviemore run was my best biking moment- since the run home was absolute biking heaven, the sort of run you can hardly believe as soon as you stop, but I didn't actually enjoy the biking side of the AR at all  I just wanted to go back to bed.

It was a little on the wet side... thats why I left Tesco's car park early and headed back to my bottle of Whiskey....to get off my :smt048
Still was a great rideout in the 3 inches of water that fell from the heavens, and a great crowd at the BBQ in the rain storm.

Not often you see a gazebo with a water feature in the middle of it, and for that matter, coming through most of the roof. :p
Thats almost luxury that

Yep, the weekend was fantastic, I just regret the time I spent on the bike, rather than getting mashed and being stabbed in the face and hit with frisbees and having my mind permanently scarred by Grinch.

having my mind permanently scarred by Grinch.
WHY? WHY do you remind me of this!!
It makes the therapy worthless ... worthless I tell you ...
