Turned up at Mallory today to watch the 1st annual racing event of the year, The Plum Pudding. In the pits were Super motards, Scooters, Caterhams, sidecars,125s, MGs even a Morris Minor that was racing on track. Started off a really good day with my son running quite well in practice, then for his first race, had 3 good laps & on the 4th lap he came up behind a slower rider at Edwinas Chicane, tried to get on the power a little early, Highsided and ended up breaking his collarbone :(.
The bike didn't come off too badly, just plastics & his rear set looks to be quite badly bent. Would like to say a massive thanks to the Marshalls and medical staff for sorting him out so quickly. This was a good introduction to his racing, just hope he keeps it the right way up for the next one. Jammy beggar has now got 6 weeks off work while he heals up.

Anyway, couple of pics from the day.

Bad luck. Heal soon and get back out there.

I could think of worse things to do for the first six weeks of the year.

What crash??????? No I'm joking.
£70 entry fee with 2 free tickets worth £12 each.

They ran 4 classes in the bikes : 125 to 660 Solo (660 being singles & twins), sidecar, Super Motard and 600 - 1000 open class which catered for anything else. I didn't see 1 sv out there. There was a very nice TL1000 which shook the pits when he started it.:)
There was even 125 twist & go's there and they didnt half give some of the "proper" bikes a run for thier money

It's an enjoyable day out in the fresh air, at least this time there was no ice and frost on the circuit. Hope your son mends quickly and my thanks to him and all the others that turned out to race and provide the entertainment as they do each year.
