Also had a set of cartridge fork internals on my pointy (only from the Andreani/Ohlins group) and really liked them. A much better fork reponse, almost no loss in damping due to changing temperatures and very good feedback. Costs a bit of cash, but works excellent! :thumleft: Only downside is the lack of adjustment possibilities, but to be honest, I didn't feel like adjusting it during the time I had them.

Glad to hear you got them fitted okay and that you too think they are well worth the money. Looks like a boxing day well spent. :)

Not sure what my sag is set to from memory, I will probably be redoing it once I've tweaked my ride height when my shock comes back from its service (hopefully this weekend). Previously I just set the preload in a couple of clicks from fully out and that was so much better than stock I didn't bother tweaking it as I knew it'd need redoing after the ride heigh adjustment.

Yeah if you are putting a longer shock in you will need more front preload

Yes, sure glad I finally did them. A rear ohlins is next, if there is the same improvement as front it will be a stonking ride. It such a nice feeling now, maybe a tad hard now. I set preload on the third ring from top, I'll slackin it a ring next weekend and see how it goes. I'm thinking of buying the Ohlins rear shock from the States because it's still cheaper than buying from UK and there's no official distributor here in Malta. I got a quote from a local dealer and was expensive. Still searching for lowest quote.

You want 25-30mm static sag and if the springs are right it'll give you about 35-40mm rider sag

I checked my head bearings because of this and found them to be sound. Good to know it's a feature not a bug, I suppose.
