Why? Something I dont understand... people being utight with that sort of thing.
Maybe if you gave us the reason for your 'survey'? Or are you just hoping to perv over any one fit? Or laugh at us fatties? - perhaps now you see why folks can be uptight?

Survey is perhapse the wrong way of explaining it. Im wanting to know what BMI's are like accross a section of the UK. Ive been reading the fitness properganda and it says one in 3 of us are over weight... just wondering if this was a lie. This seemed like the best way.
I dont like perving over men... im guessing the vast majority of .orgers are male.
Ive re-wrote my origional post.
If you ant comfortable posting them then fair enough.
I like perving over men....

Oh I know that! Im only just healthy yet ive got pretty much no fat on me... Im just fairly stocky as I do a bit of powerlifting. My friend who also does power lifting is classed as obeist and he isnt fat either... kinda what I was wanting to prove with this.
So far im the only one on here so not much math to be done yet... ha ha :smt090

As Hovis suggested - BMI can be used as an indicator of 'health' but does not take in to account muscle/fat percentages - many sportsmen will be classified as 'obese' using the BMI index

This strikes me as a somewhat 'pervy' question. Someones physical size can have no resemblence to their fitness level. You can have two fat people that have the same vital stats yet one could be physially unfit and the other could be physically fit. The same can be said for slim people - elite athletes such as runners may have stats which indicate that they are underweight or obese (depending on whether you use the BMI, Waist/Hip ratio or some other scale).
I personally think that the BMI is crap and wholly inaccurate as it does not measure fat level, muscle mass etc. Measuring someones Waist and Hip (abbreviated to WH) circumference is somewhat 'better' because an increased WH circumference over time can proivide an estimate of increased abdominal fat in the absence of a BMI change.
Anywhoo, what I dont understand from your post is...why do you want to see what everyones shape and size is on here? What are you going to do with the information? are you going to calculate everyones Waist:Hip ratio/BMI/whatever and then give us all your conclusion?

Not going to do a great deal with it... No doubt eventially all this will get burried and forgotten.
Its just for anyone to have a look at, see what other people are built like, see how we are all different.
As for the perve thing I dont quite see how numbers can be exciting... Except for a little banter.
If you like i could spend time doing all the comparisons and averages and well whatever you want, I have a fair amount of time on my hands while im at work.

BMI is LOB for sure, but last time I ran the beep I got 11.2 that was with an injury, so I'm sure if trained a bit harder level 12/13+ wouldn't be hard to get.
Also people can be fit in different ways as well. As I have a smaller frame I think it suits me better to be slim, strong and fast it worked so far! So what is right for may not suit a lot of other people.

Absolutly right, there 3 main body types...
ectomorphs - thin and wispy
mesomorphs - athletic and muscular
endomorphs - generously rounded or 'stout'
You see im a mesomorph, muscular, im good at pushing weight... With no training I benched 80KG's (considering I weight 65KG's thats not bad imo). Ive done a bit of training and now im upto 90KG lift. I have a timy waist 26" so im not particulary large, yet im USELESS at running! After a mile and a half im dieing... Still Id consider myself fit.
A little info on body types for people to peruse http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/mens_health/body_shapes.shtml

On the flip side you could see this thread as quite a positive thing. It's all too easy to forget that there are real people behind the words, nicknames and avatars. This thread kind of brings a bit of reality? You don't have to give your stats if your not comfortable with it.

Maybe this raises another, more psychological question - are biker babes/chicks/ladies/women/etc more comfortable with their physical appearance than your average fashionable/trendy/neurotic/bimbo ? ;)
Let's face it, OK, so for the boys tight leathers abound. But there is a far more practical nature to biking gear than regular clothing - does this in itself help develop (or even attract) a mindset that cares more for this aspect than the pure looks of the thing?
For blokes there is still a certain level of machismo attached to being a biker - be it thundering Hell's Angel or flash Weekend Warrior - there is a definate level of peer pressure there for blokes to contend with.
For women perhaps it's different. Dunno...
... discuss.

with me i class myself as a biker woman and I feel Im fairly neurotic and have been known to have a bimbo moment or 2. Its not that I was ever uncomfortable with my appearance as such, im just old now and dont give a toss what anyone thinks.

I have been on rideouts with mostly guys over the years and find that once they get to know each other they sort of find their own place in the pack. There are the ride as hard as they can all the time, the occassional blasts and the plodders. When I have been out with women (curvy rider group the exception) the ride has been faster and more frantic. the women seemed to think they had something to prove.
anyway im off for a lemsip now feel quite weak after thinking about what to write.

Hard to say for me as ive never actualy rode with lady riders. Have to see what this year brings.
I think like kitkat said with maturity people tend to mellow out and not really care what people think. My mum is the same, lost pretty much all shyness.
I think perhapse bikes help mellow people out as they are so relaxing (IMO). Best way for me to feel better is to go out on the bike. :D So maybe it comes just by riding.
Very interesting... Hope I said something worth reading.

I've cut your post short because I object to the words 'biker' and 'babe' being in the same sentence.
With absolutely no offence meant to any women I have never seen, all those I have seen who call themselves "something-babe" are completely and utterly minging, not just in looks but personality as well. Most are way over a size 20 and don't dress to kill, they dress like they've just killed...and eaten it raw.
Sorry, but that's the way I've seen it on every forum I've ever posted to.

That's why I included and number of 'names' - so folks could pick and choose which to read all use as they felt appropriate.

Let's face it, OK, so for the boys tight leathers abound. But there is a far more practical nature to biking gear than regular clothing - does this in itself help develop (or even attract) a mindset that cares more for this aspect than the pure looks of the thing?
Miss... can you repeat the question....?
Sorry K, you might need to put that into words of two syllables if I've got the wrong end of the stick.
I've understood the question as... Does the practical aspect of biking gear lead lady bikers to care about how well it does it's job, (ie: protection, comfort, warmth, keeping the rain out), more than they care about how they look in it. And would an average bimbo worry about appearance more or less than the experienced biker babe.
I don't think so, in fact from the opinions I have at my disposal just now, it's the opposite....
One of my cousins who's been on the bike once wearing my wifes gear represents the average bimbo. She was scared ****less despite a careful calm ride from me and hasn't plucked up the courage to go again (yet). By chance she's here tonight and she says "I can't even remember what the gear looks like, I just remember you doing up all the zips and stuff and being glad I was wearing it when on the bike." So the average bimbo wasn't image concious about the bike gear at all.
I've just asked my wife who is an experienced pillion her thoughts. "Well it's not the most flattering piece of clothing I've got, but I've got no choice on the bike, I've got to wear it. I still do think about the fact it looks crap though. I would look better in leathers and wouldn't worry about appearance so much" (She has a good size 8/10 figure and only has textiles - sacrilege!). So the biker babe, if we can use that term for a pillion, worries about the apperance.
Cousin replies "Well, yeah, if I was going to wear it regularly I'd worry about what it looked like."
You obviously haven't seen K then.;) And you haven't seen a "corsa babe" like the one that drives about here. She actually has it written on her car. But she is fit:D
K doesn't refer to herself as a "Babe" as far as I can tell, and I've seen her photo, she's really nice looking as well as apparently having a great personality. I did say I was on about the "Babes" I'd personally seen, and there's always the exception.

this is quite interesting, perhaps somebody shouild tell the manufacturers of womens clothing this and then perhaps they'll stop making the sodding pink pastelly flower girly looking stuff that drives Liz nuts when we walk into a bike shop.
I'm convinced they'd sell more to women if they made it look plainer or again to quote Liz in the same styles and colours as the mens stuff is.
As for me
-Sex - Male
-Height - 5ft 11
-Chest - 42 - 44
-waist - 34 - 36
-Hips - don't know
-Inside leg - don't know
-Weight - 14 stone ish
I had a nasty stomach upset a few weeks back and was down to 13 1/2 stone, but I suspect with all the chocolate I've been scoffing I suspect I've put it all back on again :-)

But the girly colours and designs sell, believe me - I sold clothing and helmets wholesale to bike dealers for years, so I should know. A girl who hasn't a clue about what bike kit is good or bad would pay 3 times the price of a good quality plain looking jacket just to get the right design or colour jacket made by a crap manufacturer.
Same can be said of some men and women who are suckered by the flashy designs of Alpinestars and Dainese kit. Here's the hard facts guys, it's typical designer crap - made in the same factories that make Akito, Frank Thomas and numerous others in China and Pakistan, and they use the same grades of leather and textiles. All you're paying three times the price for is badges and a whole lot of hype - it's nothing like the bespoke suits worn by the racers who are sponsored, nowhere near it. As far as safety goes, you'll never get a Dainese or A/stars leather suit through CE approval, not in a month of Sundays.
If you want good quality affordable leathers in nice designs off the shelf, look at Arlen Ness, Berik, Wolf and if you want even cheaper search out a Tecnik supplier.
If you want leathers that you know will fit and save your ar$e when you need them to, get made to measure stuff like MJK, BKS, Hideout etc. 9 times out of 10 they work out cheaper than a mid range off the peg Italian branded suit, and are far better in all respects.

I have only ever bought female biker gear... i`m not a size 8/10 but I have 2 pairs of leather trousers, both in extra short and they`re still too long and a pair of textile trousers in extra short and they`re way too long as well! I`m an average female height of 5`4"...... where do the manufacturers get their sizing guides from??? out of my 4 jackets i`m only pleased with the fit of the Lewis Ladies jacket, the others are too long in the arms or the armour is so bulky that I look like michellin man! do the manufacturers use the same armour for both mens and ladies wear???? if so don`t they realise that ladies generally have smaller shoulders and arms

How much would it actual cost to get a made mesure set of one piece leathers? As a guy as well I find it very hard to find any kind of clothing that fits me, its a nighmare. I'm gonna need a one piece set of leathers anyway.
My road leathers are the Hein Gerkie Pro Sport, they seem fine and fit me well and have amour everywhere I would them to too...My textiles are a mix of axo bottoms (which aren't great even for £90) and my alpienstar jackect whcih actually fits me well, I'm comy with all my bike on and feel confident wearing it, though I hope I never have to test it out!
I'm gonna get some alpienstar gortex trousers (this gear seems to fit me best) for next winter, being a short assm I find it hard to find stuff that fits and try on everything in da shop, its a really pain but when I spending alot of money I need to sure!

I have two pairs of 'ladies' leather pants and both are several inches too short. I find waist size never corresponds to height for ladies leathers, which is why I converted to Draggin Jeans cause they were a perfect fit and came in a nice purple camo colour. I have a size 12 waist but quite long legs-around 31" inside leg.

I have say its the same for me, I was trying to get jeans etc a few years back, (non bike gear) and da shop was like well we just don't make them that short! I was like what am I supoosed to do, I mean there are other people like, me, they were like well err...go somewhere else, the fact is not places cater for people like me, I end up spending money on getting stuff made short for me grr.....Have strange is 30" wasite and 29"?

With me having tiny waist short legs but big thighs I find it hard to get any clothes... For example I had to buy 32" waist (im 26") just so the thigh was big enough (pretty muscular). They tend to hang on my hips, so it isnt so bad :).
With me riding in all weathers year round I have to put up with not looking as good as i might with wearing heavy gortex. leathers at the mo, maybe get some this summer... not sure with them being so costly :(.
Kitkat, my mums been telling me that since I was very young, she was in her early 30's back then. Im 21 at the mo, incase anyone cared.
Babes are babes. If they ride a bike and are a babe then they are a "biker babe" I guess. Just because they are female and ride a bike then I dont think that works. Does that work for you?
Mine are:-
-Sex = Male
-Height = 6'2"
-Chest = 42-44"
-Waist = 34"
-Hips = Dunno
-Inside leg =34"
-Weight = 13 st
Though, like i expect for most people, clothes never quite fit properly. My thighs are too big for jeans that fit around the waist, etc. Oh well, we can't have it all :)
I've always struggled to find decent bike gear, purely because I am shorter than a very short thing. I've had to buy kids stuff before from Baby Biker simply because ladies bike gear is just too big.
I now have a set of Dainese leathers that I found at the BMF tail end show last year. I didn't get them because of the 'name', or how they look, but because they actually fit pretty well, and have proper armour protection at knees, elbow and shoulder. They are a bit too long in the leg, and a bit baggy, but I don't care about that. It means I can wear a back protector comfortably and put lots of layers on underneath for the winter. And they only cost me £100:D
I am another one who cringes at the 'girly' gear on sale. I don't want flowers or butterflies:pukel: I want gear that fits and protects.
Mine are:-
-Sex = Male
-Height = 5'6"
-Chest = 44"
-Waist = 34"
-Hips = Dunno
-Inside leg =32"
-Weight = 13st 7
I have a similar problem to Sean above - big thighs make it difficult to get Jeans that fit properly, and also big calves which make it a pain in the ass to get a good fit for bike boots. I'm not going to deny that I'm overweight, but those areas aren't lard.
One thing that this thread has told me...I need to loose effin wieght. All you skinny 6'2" people

You wanna membership badge and a T Shirt? It's 'cos they're all 22! ;)

It took a lot to get like this though! :)
Simple logic, eat less carb, eat more protein and up the exercise. Weight comes charging off if you do that.

Plus I guess my age does help there.
-Sex = Male
-Height = 6'1"
-Chest = 40" (Not sure how you measure this - did it with a metal DIY thingy - it was cold!)
-Waist = 35" (as in that would be a good trouser waist size for me... if they made 'em in it)
-Hips = No idea - where do you measure. I do have a big **** though (causes much trouser fitting problems)
-Inside leg = 34" (That metal DIY measure tape again - even colder shudders)
-Weight = 13st 10lb (Pretty happy with that - have spent a lot of time well into the 14s and 15s in the past)
-Age - 28
Other stuff people talking about...
Babe - I don't like the word. Normally I dislike the sort of people that use the term too. I think I can see where Lozzo is coming from on the observation front.
My BMI score puts me into overweight - Now whilst I would like to loose a boat load of body fat (that big bum) I think overweight is a little harsh. So yes I'd vote for it being a crock of shyte.
Kit fit - Have a FT jacket that I love. FT Jeans woudln't fit for love not money so got a pair of Belstaff which have done a good job of fitting through a variety of weights. Kit is all about 8 years old, so really ought to go through the pain (financial, emotional and shopping) of replacing it at some point in the medium term.
Gericke have ladies armour which is smaller, but generally the cheaper items you'll see have the same for gents and ladies.
