I haven't a scooby. I thought it would be easy like burning mp3's, but I just don't get it. I've downloaded programs that supposedly do it but they just turn my avi files into BUP, IFO and VOB files, which I don't have a clue what to do with:confused:
There must be a simple program that just takes my avi video and burns it to a DVD disc......... isn't there?
What do you guys use?
HELP!:(

Download Nero or Roxio from limewire or other suitable P2P or Torrent downloader. I use nero and there's a DivX to DVD option. Load the files in and it sorts it by itself (well most of the time!).

Does it work with AVI files?

Yup, that's what the DivX-DVD function does.

I use vso
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
It allows you to add subtitles.
You'll find it on limewire or one of the torrent sites.
Pour petrol on them and put a lit match to it. That should do the trick.

I've never herd of this method before.

Seams to work really well.

Not sure about Richie's method of burning. Will it work in the dvd player?

Now that wasn't asked in the original question now was it :?: Can't go changing the rules just because a perfectly plausible way of burning disks doesn't suit you. [-X

I'm with BigApe,
Blow torch and petrol, 2 stroke mix, works a treat every time.

Sheer comedy genius:thumbsup:
darren,
In response to the orginal question heres what I use...
A program called 'Winavi' to convert the original .avi file to dvd format.
This will give you an audio and video file.
Next fire up Nero, use Nero Express and the 'convert dvd files' option. Then add the Video file (no need to add the audio) when requested, and away you go.
Its not as difficult as it sounds and using this method should give you a decent quality dvd that will work on most players.
Just google 'winavi' to find somewhere to d'load it.

That failed as well. I'm beginning to think the problem might be my tesco DVD+R's:?
