I've been lurking here for months, if not years. I finally decided to register and put up a post. Here is a few little shots from Northern California the other day. Enjoy :-D

Overlooking Stinson Beach on the way back home!

Looking back at Stinson, and to the right is Mt. Tamalpais.
These were taken during a short ride with a friend of mine 330 miles of some really really twisty coastal roads!

Very nice pics, welcome to the site!
Custom is, new members put a few regulars up for a week or so to sample the local roads for future ride-outs.
When can I come over? :D

The invitation is open, I think I can house 5-6 of ya at a time, the little woman can cook a mean LARGE meal as well, I hope all you like Caribbean food! :D I'm afraid I only have 3 bikes to ride at a time :p so first come first serve.
Seriously though there is a fairly large group of us out here that follow sv650.org
Hi and welcome.
I am so glad I don't live where you do. The scenery is horrible and as for those twisty roads. =;

Thank you :-)
I can barely stand to be riding those roads sometimes :p!

Yes, I can very much believe it. Give me nice straight predictable boring roads anytime of the day.
I'm just amazed there are interesting roads over there. All the ones I saw were longer sweeping bends, rather than tighter technical stuff.

welcome------:smt003:smt003
just been out today riding the dry roads-- great:cool:
Very nice:-D
I must admit, those roads look like fun. I tend to think of America as being all long, boring, flat roads full of Harley's doing 50mph;)

Over here on the West coast there seems to be a fair share of twisties upon twisties....But the freeways are 5-6 lane auto wrecking derbys, so most of us with half a brain go searching for the back road twisties rather than roll the dice and chance being taken out by the minivan moms chatting on cellphones.

I think you might be fairly right for the most of the middle of the US where there is nothing but corn fields and wheat growing, but its definitely not the case here in n. California. I will definitely get you guys more photos of the area here to give you a broader spectrum on my rides coming up.
Haven't been to California yet - spent a fortnight on a loop between Vegas, Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore last year though, tracking US 89.
Would have loved to do it on a bike, even if it meant riding a harley for a fortnight.

Hey where do you live? I was in San Fran a few years back, that city is ace, we drove down the highway 101, all I could think was I wish I was on bike down there!
There looks like there is lots of nice riding to do where you are out there, one day I hope!
Though I though LA was a hole, what a nasty place didn't like it!

I agree with you about L.A. again if you venture north of L.A. up Hwy 1 the roads are great starting in Santa Barbara all the way to the top of California.
I live in Fair Oaks in the foothills right near Sacramento a little way below the Sierra mountains. San Fran. is a beautiful city and the whole area around it is tops IMHO. I grew up south of SF in Santa Cruz, more great coast!!!

Word for word she can cook that and does almost every other night. I dig those fried plantains with some oil and garlic dip. I'm suprised I'm not the size of a dumpster from her being in the house for a little under a year :p.
I'll be on the next plane too!!!
Just think of all those Californians reading the drivel we write on here:-D

Northern Cali, nice place. They say where I live is very similar as far as temperate climate is concerned. Notice you obviously had a few drops of rain as we have lately. In truth we don't get a whole lot though.

Yeh it was on over here a few weeks backs now. TBH i didnt think it was anywhere near as much of an adventure at the Round one was.
But maybe cos they were going thru Africa i was expecting too much.
And Ewans wife wanting to come along having never rideen a bike was a bit of a poor show too...so it was nice to see her fall off a few times.
Ah Karma, the eternal balancer of all things

Yup, we get it on the telly before you lot...
Why no pics of bikes in your collection, were you cheating and driving the car?

Aww yes Iv'e got photos of my rides, but none on the trip, I am in the process of trying to rig my digi camera on some sort of mount on my street bike so I can reach down and just click in the middle of a corner or when I feel its a good shot.
My race rig is in my avatar :-)...Maybe another post for my rides :-)
