Obviously this makes me a bad human being, but I've been sat here for half an hour watching assorted idiots get stuck in the snow on my street  Funny how I could get up it with just one driven wheel but this guy in a BMW has been sat there with the wheels spinning at about 50mph for 10 minutes.
Makes me chuckle when I see people struggle in the snow. Apart from when it's me.

There are some simple pleasures in life, and watching other peoples inadequacies at something you consider yourself good at is one of them!
This thread is worthless without pictures...

ditto, PICS PLEASE. Not seen snow in the 'flesh' for ages! It's bloody boiling here!
Used to live on a steep hill in Rossendale, Lancashire. The amount of times I was out there with shovel helping people up the hill, well I'd be rich if I got paid a quid for each time! A Hem!
I also used to GRIT the place too. Things you do when you are either a) Bored, b) TOLD TO by your Dad!

I think it'd be a little rude to walk up to them and take photos :) We're past the best now sadly, but the sideroad is still quite slippy, I'll see if I can nab you one. Apparently we might get up to 6 inches of snow tonight

Some friends we have over here are from Edinbrough. They loved it there. Not sure why they moved out here though...
LOL
i can't wait to see snow! i've never been in snow. and i've been in this cold country for almost a year now, its time for some decent snow to make it all worthwhile.
i took the terrible tube this morning because of the fear of riding in snow, and there was not a single snowflake in sight. i feel ripped off!
please northwind, take some photos?

We've had a snowplough :( The enemies of fun strike. Though don't tell them I said that, I'd quite like to be able to ride tomorrow!
Did some photos for y'all, they're not very good... For some reason I never thought to take pics earlier. I was just taking a pic when the plough came down...

Funnily enough the only car I saw get struggling to get up a hill today was a BMW too and bloke in a BMW got killed on the A90 when he ended up at the bottom of an embankment.
They are a terrible car in the snow being rear wheel drive. When I had one it got left on the drive and I used my wife little Seat Ibiza, which is great int he snow. Slippy slopes in a BMW are best done in reverse.
I was over in Auchmuirbridge and the only thing that got me over the hill overlooking Loch Leven towards M90 J5 was momentum. If I'd stopped I'd never have got going again (in a Ford Mondeo now).

Belting Pics.
But, where are the kids throwing snowballs at the passing cars! used to drive me mad that!
Although I do remember once as kid, me and mates threw a load of snowballs at a passing bus! Driver stopped and chased us! Good grief! Could hardly run for laughing!
Not that I condone that sort of behaviour now! Sad old man I am now!
A little late, just seen this but I think perhaps the word of the day would have been Schadenfreude (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schadenfreude) :smt043

We must have the guy that drives one of the gritters staying up this way somewhere, was past here 6 times yesterday!.. Not that i'm complaining, usually can't get out of the village when it snows.
thankyou so much for the photos! it would appear that i am infact living in the wrong part of the country for snow, but i am going to switzerland as soon as i finish this job to run around, throw snowballs and make a snow man.
i don't think i quite comprehend how cold it is going to be though.
and no i am not going skiing. that kind of terrible activeness does not appeal.
