went to the bike show at GMEX manchester & picked up a new can.
there were a few companies there selling end cans. i went for the s/steel oval from Carbon Can Co. like the one below
1029
me & a mate thought we would give it a go when we got back.
junior hack saw - not a chance
electric jigsaw - nope
angle grinder - now thats a tool i should use more often. like a hot knife through butter. only problem, the disc on it was too small to get all the way through the link pipe on the original system, so i have to get a 7" disc tomorrow to finish the job, then the new slip on should be fitted in about 5 minutes.
anyone got experience of Carbon Can Co end cans?

you can get most of the way with the 4" then do the last bit with a hack saw that way no waiting to hear that sound :)

we are about half way through i reckon - poss' a 3" disc on the grinder at the moment & its the only 1 i have. pitch dark now anyway & no power in the shed, so i would have to wait until tomorrow anyway.
the anticipation is half the fun.

Yep got a SS CCC can fitted , really pleased with for 99 quid .
Cheers Steve
Might be stating the bloody obvious but don't forget to protect your swing arm if using a bigger wheel. I used a full size hack saw with a 22 TPI blade (I think) and it pi55ed it. Happy new exhaust :D

Yep I have the same can very nice sound. They are all just about the same as far as removing the stock can. I took an extra 20 minutes to remove the down pipes and cut it lying flat on the floor. Much earier and I was through it with a grown up hack saw in 1 minute.

we considered the idea of removing the down pipes, but with sun going down & no light in the shed we opted for the 'quicker' option. in reality now we have to wait until tomorrow so not so quick really.
greg, did you get the baffle out?

When I got mine I swore I would remove the baffle one day. You can drill the rivet out but I never did and I've had mine for 7 months now it just sounds great as is and that's how they developed it.

Absolutely no comparrison the stock system sounds like a hoover and the CCC just gives it a real nice roar and you need do nothing with the tuning it's perfect as is. That's coming straight from the CCC team.

thanks for the advice - much appreciated
I leave the baffle in my CCC , sound nice .
Don't want a extremly loud exhaust as use bike every day
Cheers Steve
I'm 3 parts deaf in my right ear, so having a race can doesn't really bother me, but I hate having them on inline 4s. On a triple or a v-twin a race can sounds great, but most IL4s just sound screamy and nasty. One exception is any 4 with an Akrapovic system or race can, they're the only ones that sound half decent.
My main objection to having a super-loud bike is this; when I'm out having fun riding like a ****, I don't want to advertise that fact to everyone for 5 miles around. All that does is bring men in loudy painted fast cars after you when the natives get a bit agitated.
