The 2008 dates for Bikesafe are out. For those who don't know about Bikesafe, it's a FREE day of rider training run by Wilts Council and the Police. I know a load of people from Wiltshire Bikers have done Bikesafe before and not only learnt loads but really enjoyed the day. The Police Motorcyclists are great guys and everyone is very friendly...you can't go wrong for the price... :P

I did a BikeSafe with N. Wales group. Very useful and informative. Definitely recommended!

A number of police forces do not run this. My own, Lancashire is a good example of a missed opportunity. Actually if you asked them about bikesafe, they point you at the county council run training scheme that is expensive and unrecognised as an advanced qualification. So it is cheaper to do an IAM or RoSPA course.

They are two day courses and good value
I think IAM/ROSPA is better quality but it takes longer and overall will be more expensive
Done the wilts one last september, top day, great guys and i learnt a lot.
I could do with giving it a go in Wilts.
I missed out on this last year, definitely want to get myself along to one.

wiltshire is a lot closer than i thought (my geography is terrible) - i might have to pop along in the summer, the island doesn't have a bikesafe group either, despite having pretty much the worst motorcycle accident statistics in the UK...

The 2 day Gwent workshop in July(or was it June?) comprised 2 days of riding in p*ssing rain. Got me over my fear of cornering in the wet.. :smt045 Well worth the £80.

OI, Tim there are running them from Wakefield or Warrington. That should do it.

If it's an over whelming yes then i shall book my place within the next week.

As for the pipes I think it will be the same as the IAM; they'll not be that bothered, just don't take the pi$$.

Right, I've contacted the bloke who organises it and he has sent me an e mail with the booking forms, so who ever is interested please PM me your e mail address and i'll forward the relevant information on, the afore mentioned documents are microsoft word and pdf format.

Glad u arrived back safely. Its a wonder really considering your psychometric test results (thankfully anonymous) showed you were a borderline psychopath ;)
As you say, it was a brilliant day and those cops REALLY are excellent riders and tutors.
By the way, had you seen that camera in the 40mph zone on the westbound A419 (short of Turnpike roundabout) before today? I certainly hadn't :-dd
