Apparently they have an entire team deicated to finding this guy. This video is hardly any real evidence though, I mean there are a million ways to fake this. In fact I could do it quite easy using a compositing program called After Effects. That being said I'm sure the law would bend it to get a prosecution and make an example of 'us crazy bikers'. I guess doing that speed is a bit silly but just makes me laugh how they try to get a conviction from a low resolution video. Besides, if you search for videos of cars speeding I'm sure you'll find more than one or two. Why does the law always get serious with this stuff when a motorcycle is involved?
Anyway, have a look and decide for yourself. I think his speedo is way off.
now can some one recomend me a decent cam so i can record my ninja doing top speed please??

Well to be fair if you watch when he is following traffic i wouldnt think its that far out, and apparently its a 450bhp bike, erm yer ok thats a lot. Possible but me no think so.

To be fair i dont think that it would be too hard to get it to 189 if it is really.

KPH Speedo?
KPH Speedo?
possibly, can the gear indicator and rev limit be seen as well ? if it all ties in like 6th indicted on red line at 189 then its MPH.

He hits the rev limiter pretty quickly i reckon there is a boost of summit in there cos he's on the limiter when he hits it until he lets off.
saying that a 10R is a fast as f**k bike, so once up i nthe power band the revs will fly, mine does it up past 10K

08-01-08, 02:28 PM
he's holding it around the 70-80 region until he gets straight then all of a sudden poof, i just reckon a boost of some sort, Nos or summit, turbo, whatever can be done, but i think standard isnt that far off TBH

Nice youtube comment:
Oh look, biker goes fast on long straight clear section of road! Children dead - 0. Grannies dead - 0. Cyclists dead - 0. Risk factor - 0. Police annoyed - lots. Police solving important crimes - 0.
I can understand the police doing him if they caught him in the act, but cannot help but feel it's not the best use of their time squandering resources on catching someone from a very small grainy videoclip that any decent expert witness would be able to 'prove' to a reasonable level of doubt to be a fake/exaggeration.
according to later posts it has a turbo.

Like i said, if yopu look at a few of his other videos
Nice to see my tax is being used to pay the police to sit on their hinds drinking coffee and viewing youtube all day.
I must bag me a job like that... Any officers here tell me how I can get a job like that?
You watch, there will be a national scandel to catch the very wreckless rider that killed at least 2 ants crossing the motorway. The horror. He should be hung for that.
With regards to the speed, yet another example of how speed kills. I mean look how many innocent people are killed/effected by this.
Shocking.
No sarcasm at all there........

Well after watching it and hearing a dump valve on the second round about and the search words having NOS among them hat this is a turbo'd and NOS'd bike. Only way to ecxplain why when the revs start going the bike more than goes!
Why would it be at all unbelievable to go from 100 to 189 in 6 seconds? Well other than people who are used to Cars... So think Slow.

I can tell you exactly what the top speed is on a 2007 ZX6R as well.
Shame on us. :p

hmmmm.... **** head. He's asking for trouble. Seen his other video "Wanted... the boys" - rude boy on a boosted ninja. fair play about the police not getting out there and catching 'real' criminals etc but it's just more negative attention from the media.
If you stop the video as he does the ride-past you'll see it's a lowered ZX10R turbo dragbike - it was built by Big CC Racing.
There's another video on Youtube showing the bike itself sitting there ticking over. Apparently it does put out about 450BHP, hence the wheelspin all the way up to an indicated 189mph - it's not getting traction if you listen to the sound on the video and the speed climbs way too quickly from 135 to 165 and again when he changes gear.
Either way, the guy's licence is toast if they find out exactly who was riding at the time. They know the bike, they know the area, it doesn't take more than a couple of questions locally to get a bead on someone that infamous.

"On the Autobahn" (;)) my old Gixer Thou would hit 186 and the speedo would go no further, but the revs would rise by another 500 rpm if you held it to the stop. I never did work out how fast a speedo reading that would be, but it was probably a true 185ish.
Speedos are so inaccurate at that sort of speed though, I managed to see almost 185 on the clock of my ZX9R that had 142 rw bhp - no way could it really do that, even with that much power.

Can't decide whether I actually want a bike like that...
Would be total insanity, but still :-D

Well on my private test track it read 179mph. It was weird did a roll on in 6th gear so it didn't really feel like I was going above 100.
I don't own it any more because of the relative insanity. It wasn't a practical bike to use day to day, and I found it the most boring bike in the world to be perfectly honest....unless you rode it everywhere at over 120mph. Below that and it was just too competent and handled anything you threw at it without so much as a flutter - boring, no challenge. By the time I sold it I was getting into the hang of wheelying past lines of cars at over 100mph, and had found that raised cats eyes made good launching ramps for 130+ wheelies too.
I had a few scares on it and nearly punted myself into the next county so I sat myself down and had a stern word with myself about my riding. Between sensible me and mental me we decided that I was no longer capable of handling a bike with 165bhp on the road since I had my stroke, and I sold it to buy a gentleman's 2-wheeled sports conveyance - the Triumph Daytona.

Sounds like they've caught the guy!
"Police finally arrested the infamous youtube speeding motorcyclist earlier today. The rider who is believed to have acheived speeds of over 180mph in what is though to be the UK's most serious speeding violation, first came to the attention of the authorities in America while officers were making routine patrols of the video clip sharing site 'youtube'.
http://www.noahshachtman.com/images/police_car_computer.jpg
Making efficient use of the social networking site 'facebook', officers swiftly notified UK police of the video's existence. From the comfort and convinience of a uk patrol car, traffic officers were able to liase with the criminal investigations department (CID), the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and Ministry of Defence (MoD) before tracking down the perpetrator.
http://www.paulwilson.me.uk/dsc02238[1].jpg
The three agencies were able to correlate information from a range of sources and determine the location of the offender and his motorcycle, which is believe to be a lowered ZX10R turbo dragbike built by Big CC Racing. Officers swiftly moved in and arrested the man before seizing his bike, his computer and his budgie.

Its a good job its a common plain bike, If it was souped up or anything he might be in trouble..... if it were say, turbo'd, or had a massive swing arm, or was built buy a specific tuning company and they had receipts and the like....... LOLOLOLOL

I'm not sure if they're the exact same model, but DJing equipment/lighting stores sell very similar matrix boards. Might be worth finding out if they do a keyboard compatible for yours. :)

That bike's not doing 180+mph - quick yes, but 190ish? No. Huge wheelspin saw to that.
If the Old Bill Security Company LTD, (very), think otherwise then they're even dafter than they look.

That bike is deffinately a turbo for those who are wondering. You can hear the dump valve opperating at the end of the vid when he goes round the last roundabout at 2:28 when he launches in first then slips the clutch into the turn. Another give away is the fact that he goes so slowly round those roundabouts, most likely due to the fact that he has an extended swing arm inorder to stop the front lifting off the ground all the time. The other thing is that it may have a rear wheel speedo which would mean that as it was wheel spinning it would be giving out an artificially high reading as the wheel was spinning faster than it should be for a bike going a what ever speed it was doing.
Yes that bike is capable of those speeds, yes he probably did it, yes the speedo is probably out just a little bit. Did anyone get hurt and was it done in a recless manner? I dont think so.
If you had a bike that could do that wouldnt you? I sure as hell would. Also it did seem like he was riding the rest of the vid in a fairly sensible manner.

Exactly - although the speedo is driven from the front sprocket, but that amounts to the same thing - as you're aware I've no doubt.

The only other thing is isnt 189mph equal to 299 kph and thusly is the max speed that most digital speedos go to? That raises the issue of was it actually not showing how fast he was really going. A bit like in the ghostrider vids when it tops out at 299 for 10 to 12 secs at a time.
Given that my tl has done 150 2up and 165 with my fat ass on it (both indicated) I really dont see how a more modern same cappacity bike with a turbo as well can fail to make 190. It wouldnt suprise me if he was going even faster.
At the end of the day we can argue over the speed as much as we want but it was still very very fast and i would sure as hell like to have a go at that speed.

Can I just ask a question?
Who says the Cops are hunting this man?
Pistonheads?
I work on a traffic unit and I can promise you all, there is no-one in any GMP traffic unit who is looking for You-Tube speeders. We have better things to do. Apart from anything, the peeps as systems management don't allow videos from the net to stream, so we can't see anything.
Yep, he is undoubtably going VERY fast, but the diificulty of proving the offence of speeding is ridiculous.

Does indeed look turbo'd (see piccies attached)....
Question though - if he modified it so that the speedo was on the rear wheel, could that explain the sudden massive rollon he experiences? If the wheel looses that much traction, surely it could easily be spinning at 190ish mph, but true road speed would be much less.....
most of which are probably by police trying to identify the rider.
LOL. Sure... Not.

A fair point methinks. Good to know that some officers are quite sensible. I have a friend who works in Thames Valley Traffic who told me they are pouring resources into finding the youTube speeders but it doesn't make any real sense to me. He's always been prone to exaggerating the law though, usually to scare me from doing anything silly like this. What, me!?
