recently i seem to be very injury prone, I played rugby from age 5 - 20 at club level and only had a broken nose and 1 concussion. im in my second season of football and already ive had about 3 serious dead legs that has kept me out for the following game, broke my ankle, ripped a muscle next to my quad.
1st game back last sat and i took a massive wack on the back of my head which has made my neck hurt since and ive damaged my knee :smt093 so im struggling to walk again.
whats going on!!
I know i play football very hard and put my body on the line to win every ball, but i did the same in rugby and never got injured this much!! are your legs just that much more fragile than your top half?
:smt090
Broken my nose 7 times this season alone playing rugby, once it's gone thats it, doesn't take much to break it again :(

ive had another sporting injuries, concussion from cricket (before you had to wear helmets) scars from rugby, but cuts and laserations dont stop you from playing
just remember that i also broke my finger playing rugby, but it didnt stop me from playing like these stupid football injuries are!!!
maybe playing a girls game has turned me into a girl
*runs and hides*
christ, injuries, the list is long and im certain i'm forgetting some:-
medial ligament damage to left knee - football
cartilage damage and rebuild of left knee - football
left ankle ligament tear - football
left groin - football
prolapsed disc - cricket
broken nose - dad headbutted me
broken collar bone - football
Funny you should say that.
Also used to play rugby religiously. Im quite small, but was very fast and broad. I'd hit anything and anyone with no fear. I had a lot knee issues (still have), but mainly broken fingers and toes.... I don't play anymore out of lazyness.
We now play indoor football, about 12-14 of us in a huge hall. Its hard work, constently sprinting about. I've been hit by the ball in the "man" region quite a few times, so much so once it made me sick. I've damaged my ankle and couldn't walk for over 2 weeks, still think I fractured it, but could also be a tendon type issue. Still got to be very very carefull 3 months later!! I get hurt shins (bone against bone), ripped my hand backwards (saving a shot from the "powerhouse" kicker) and couldn't write or anything for a month). I get so many "stupid" injuries from a 1 hour knock about per week, yet when I played rugby, i was fine...
But now im 26, not 10-17, and i think im realising im already getting old :-(

scarred knee??
Doh, was meant to say NOT 10-17.....
Had a funny one the other day. Running for the ball, kicked, looked up, running full speed at the wall. Hands out to take the impact which worked (i was literally 1m away at full speed). My cheast hit the wall which winded me a bit, but managed not to run face first into the wall.
However........
Gravity and momentum wasn't on my side. My face missed, my cheast didn't, and neither did my manly area. Although my hips didn't hit the wall, the "swinging" action of our male parts carried on going forwards and whacked into the wall. Needless to say, i went down, both winded, and suffering extreme impact pain to the "end" and testies........ It took a good 10 minutes and some "john wayne" style walking for the pain to go......
Even worse, was my first week back after missing over a month after the above posted ankle incident
On purpose?
yep
the fun we used to have

i know the feeling!! had it happen to me in so many different ways.
the best (if there can possibly be a 'best' way) was when i was playing frizz bee at school, it was summer and i thought id do what all young lads like to do, show off to the girls! my mate throws the frizz bee and i jump up and let me it go between my legs so i can catch it on the other side, done it many times before. but this time it dosent make it to my hand and hits me full on, and boy did that hurt. i just lay in a pile on the ground, i didnt care about the laughs that were coming my way......

Actually is for me now. If I stub my thumb, it just dislocates - pops right back to by my wrist. Smarts a bit!

Last July I managed to snap a chunk of bone off in my left thumb along with the ligament when I was hitting a focus pad at the gym. Needed an op to fix it and it's still not 100% even now
