What's the deal with re-insuring a written off, bought back car?
Do you just reinsure it as normal 3rd party? Will only certain insurers do this?
Do they just check it as such on the database and then its the same as normal?

My astra was a cat d write off and my insurers downgraded me to tpft til it had a new mot then they upped it back to fully comp.
I would imagine that you can insure it because you need insurance to tax it and you need tax to have it on the road, even if it is a non runner.....

Ta for that info, its a runner (not mine) but not pretty and likely to be beyond economical repair.

Never had trouble insuring any of mine. I've owned 3 Cat C write off cars, all been repaired, VIC checked, MOT'd, back on road
