I once did Silverstone on the Bandit 600 and found it a little like racing in a Walmart car park (rather large and featureless).

That said, you suggested it, so I may be convinced to let the Kwak have a punt round there:D

Tyres will get plenty warm enough on the track (what type are you thinking of using BTW?), though its sooooo important to make sure you take it easy for the three warm up laps on each session :smt045

Not sure anyone going from here has a van, but there are some other people coming from the ZX-10 website, and a few of them do have vans/trailers. If worst comes to worst (and please make sure it doesn't!) I'm sure something could be sorted out. Oh and make sure you have breakdown cover too, PM me if that bit needs explaining.

I've got a Daytona 675 with Pirelli Dragons on it. Only done trackdays on the D220s on the SV and Z6s. Bit nervous the tyres won't get up to temp with me on board.

i have a van although i don't think it's big enough for my bike to go into (citroen berlingo), but i will probably borrow my workmates one which is a relay (if i can fix the bike to the floor (it has a wooden floor!!)). if it's possible to fix em down then i can probably get another 2 bikes in, which would fill all 3 seats. if anyone would want to come in that. i will be going that way if i can.

Hmmmmmm... Interesting, even I might want to play that day. Maybe.

i want to but can't just too damn scared !!!!!!
There's no need to be scared, think of a trackday as a sunday rideout with all the rubbish bits removed, there's no-one going the other way, no manhole covers, no-one pulling out on you, in the unlikely event of anything slippy on the road someone will wave a flag at you and tell you about it, and no surprises as all the corners will be known to you once you've been 'round a couple of times.
Not meaning you, but I'm surprised at some of the people who are disinclined to ride on the track especially when you see the way they ride on the road, which has risks that the track simply doesn't involve.

I'm planning a route from the Ace Cafe if anyone is interested in riding up with me.

I'm planning on heading straight there (not via Ace) to try and get in early enough bag us some 'garage space'. This is basically a section of the pits, which is dry and acts as a handy area to hang out and leave all your stuff during the day. I can't promise pit crew and a fully kitted out workshop, but you will be sharing it with myself, Cazza and Helen which has got to count for something! :smt061

Anyone else who isn't coming past the Ace and doesn't mind a brisk run is welcome to join me, meet point/time TBC (probably near the M25/M40 junction). It would be helpful to have a few others to help commandeer the space.

I think nobody will be allowed on that certain R1 once its lady owner gets her paws on it. I still have no idea what bike I will have, but I am sure I will be able to hire/beg/borrow/steal one for a wee bit.

Still though for that price I am kind of kicking myself. So I guess a trip to cadwell on the thou should prove to be as much fun.

Ok, so mentioned it on the phone to Shiv today and she said "can we talk about it when I get home?"

Translating that from girl-speak means she'll be really upset if I do go, but doesn't want to say so because she doesn't want to seem like a kill-joy. I'm now a probable no.

They cant afford to repair the track if you fall on it and dent it you see....they say the pics of the road after your last off and noticed you were fine, bike was a bit bent but the road had a great big bear shaped ding in it ;)

well it's not quite bear shaped, but you can see the damage caused here:

Silverstone simply can't afford to have you do something like that again, cos they'll never get things fixed up again in time for the F1 racing, etc...
