Another eventful TVSF rideout!

ASM - what happened to you? The road was straight and we waited but you didn't come past??

Tony - How are you and the bike? Not too much damage I hope..

Took nearly 2 hours to get back from On Yer Bike & couldn't see a thing with the black visor on (didn't expect to still be out when it got dark!) plus my bike is jumping out of gear and is vibrating a lot more than usual, dunno whats going on there..

I should note it's my bottom that was aching. The profanity filter here can be a bit ambiguous!

I was with you guys as we left Aylesbury, and you headed off towards Amersham/London. Its quicker for me to go home via Stoke Mandeville/Princes Risborough and Wycombe. I like those roads and i have a mate who lives in PR, so i stopped for a coffee. It still took me less than an hour to get home. I tried to signal, but i'm not surprised you missed it!

What happened Tony? I assume you had a spill? Hopefully you are ok....makes me wish i stuck with you guys now. :(

Also not good to hear your bike is playing up Nick. IMO get someone knowledgeable to look at it, sooner rather than later, as gear boxes/clutch can get expensive! It might be worth checking the adjustment of the chain etc.

Oh dear.

Another TV rideout that got fragmented.

Tony, sorry to read about your off. I gather things are not too serious so good news there at least.

So is anyone going to the ace tomorrow or not :?: I shall be going, but in the car.

Tony - Sorry to hear about the off mate. Glad it wasn't too serious but still a bummer. I managed to get home in one piece. Was good fu n to have a ride with other people, I've got so used to riding on my own over christmas.

oh, oh... test drove the CBR600RR, what an amazing bike!!

Sales guy who was dealing with us was very helpful, but his manager is a right ***t!!!! (Honda Chiswick) If anyone is interested in them, P&H Gatwick/Crawly are doing a much better deal at £800 less and works out much cheaper than the Honda 0% finance. Grrrrr.

As Jon discovered, that was probably a bad move. The SV will feel agricultural in comparison. :smt045

I was stopped at a set of lights with a silver car next to me and Tony behind me.. Lights went green so I pull away and the car comes with me not wanting me to get ahead of it so I give some revs and pull round the sharp left hander and get away.. Ride up to the next set of lights and there is no Tony, passenger in the silver car (now behind me) calls me back to say my mate fell off so I park the bike up and run back up the road.

Tony said the car didn't give him an inch and forced him towards the curb which is when he grabbed the front brake and down he went..

If i'd of known the ****er in the car did this then i'd of had words with them and got details etc.. Hope all is ok Tony and nothing still aching :-(

Sounds like a complete tosser, but the sad thing is i'm not surprised. :(

It sounds like you were all after the same piece of road and a bike never wins.

Where did this happen...any cameras?

nick u beat the car on acceleration, there were road work cones on the left hand side of the road @10 feet in to the road turning into …….
The driver moved over to the right hand side of the road to clear the cones not Noticing I’m at his rear door corner ……….
As his car moved towards me I had no choice but to slam on my brakes and on a lean going around the wheels went from under me.
Its nice to say the passenger noticed me fall but then it’s a shame the driver didn’t see me when he/she pulled in front of me. :smt104

I think I kept the bike from damage with my left leg and left hand….:p
No broken parts (thank god) good old bruising appearing…..left hand must have twisted some how,(like when I landed on it) but bruised a lot.
Left knee swelled up a lot (could be old age or just arthritis knee pain) or the bike landed on it.. :smt108
my fault should have guessed i was going to be cut up, and took the turn behind the car...

Anyway.
Scratches to bike and as I said the crash bungs did their job.
I’m going to repair the broken gear selector via nut and bolt…:sunny:
Got off lightly could have been a lot worse, at lest the cars behind me saw me fall and drove around me.. NO ONE STOPPED just drove around me !

Stig

Shall I make myself unpopular now :?: OK I will.

Tony, I think it was your fault. Had you been in right position you would have seen the cones and naturally assumed the driver would move over to the right to avoid them. From your description of where you were when he started moving right, I'd say you were in his blind spot.

I reserve the right to withdraw my statement on account I was not actually there so can not say with any conviction at all that what I stated was the truth. Just going from what has previously been said.

Aside from all that, I am happy that you did not do any proper damage to yourself and the damage to the bike was minimal.

Apart from Tony's spill it was a good day out :-)

Philbut, those roads between Fox's and On Yer Bike are awesome, as soon as it's dry and I have some time at the weekend i'll be back over there to practice. You were flying along in front , I didn't have a hope in hell of catching you and I suspect you weren't even going close to flat out. I wasn't feeling too confident with the roads being wet in places and with my bike jumping out of gear.. and I had to wait for Tony and ASM to catch up of course ;-)

I need to get out and ride those roads over and over again on a nice sunny dry day..

Shocking allegations!

Great roads though....i swear that was the route we went when Stu lead the ride, but in reverse. In fact i am sure it was, as i recognised one of the villages where we stopped for a photo.

Finding the best biking roads is easy, all you have to do is look for the 'X casualties here' signs.

Well, the top box and sh*tty missmatched tyres add at least 20mph :p. I have the fastest barge on 2 wheels!

The route tis a favourite of mine. Warthog and fat bastrd are also fans I believe. Very rarely see any coppers down there either, which is a goo job cos we usually average about 30-40mph over the limit - just take it easy through those villages, and there are a few corners that can catch you out if you aren't expecting them.

what roads where you on? the a41 to aylesbury? Its a nice road but nicest when going from buckingham back down to aylesbury. I really like the b road between thame and bicester. Thats a beautiful road and its in oxfordshire which means it smooth.

The villagers dont like you hooning through there nice little comunities. Oh well what a shame.

Apart from the uniform car that went past in the opposite direction?

Poor obs if you didn't see it. :p

I scrubbed some speed when i saw it but was still 20-odd over the limit.....which lead to some anxious mirror checking.

A regular Sunday route for me is the A413 from Aylesbury to Buckingham, round the Tingewick bypass to Bicester, A41/B4011 to Thame and B4012 to Postcombe. There are some proper hairy bends on those B roads and the 'x accidents in last y years including z motorcyclists' signs are a sure-fire indication that some fun bits are coming up.

I think i did see the cop car, but by the time he'd turned round, I'd have been long gone, so not too fussed - but yes, my previous comment about not many coppers now seems a bit flawed!:smt075

He seemed to slow down after he passed us, as if he was thinking of doing a u-turn. I did consider overtaking Tonyk, so i wans't the last bike/in the firing line, but decided on a ridiculous amount of mirror/shoulder checks. :smt068
