I can't say I've heard the story, but, as I have many friends from various biker groups, i can say you never cross a blue angel, they're very scary

Would a crossbow be the medieval equivalent of a sawn off longbow?
Oh and is it acceptable to refere to the angels as northern monkeys?:rolleyes::-#

The jury was told police discovered instructions and a crossbow ..... Police also found an A to Z with markings on both Mr Malham's and his business partner Paul Moody's addresses.

To quote Eroll from snatch;
I know a lot of tits, Guv'nor. But I don't know any quite as fcking stupid as these two.

The insanity of these cruiser riding muppets is quite scary, but come on, not the brightest bunch are they?

A few years ago, I was going out with the shotgun, a mate decided to take his crossbow. As we walked past Brinscall police station, the village bobby collared us.

He had no problems I was carrying the shotgun. But what was Mick doing with that toy.

To prove it was not a toy, we went to the police station back yard and he placed a piece of wood against the door. First bolt, went straight through the plywood, back door, kitchen cupboard door and embedded itself amongst smashed crockery into the kitchen wall.

Sod it says copper, I am being shifted in a couple of week it can stay like that. So personal opinion is that crossbows are a serious lethal weapon, quiet, huge stopping power etc. After all they are designed to take out the posh gits in tin suites sat on their horses

Quite correct of course.A couple of workmates had a crossbow fired at them as they legged it out of a block of flats and it missed them but did some serious damage to the brickwork.
I have an anti ballistic jacket, and I very much doubt it would stop a crossbow bolt, which is more akin to a small missile than a bullet.

Quite right... Ballistic jacket would be useless against a crossbow. FAR more energy transfered through a bow shaft than a bullet... It just so happens that bullets fly faster and so allow people to be more lazy with compensating for motion and other trajectory-altering factors.

A mate of mine got shot through the chest with a longbow, lucky for him it had a fine point on it not a broadhead so it went clean through him and left a nice neat entry and exit hole, instead of smashing his chest like a sledgehammer. He still wasn't too delighted though by all accounts.

Lol sounds like it might have stung a bit.

I have one of those compound bows (just in case of plowsie's really), and it's not a particularly strong draw on it, but you still wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of it. Crossbows can be even more powerful, to the extent of being able to drop a deer with one at 40 yards.

Weapons are always interesting, if mankind put as much effort into anything as we put into killing each other we'd probably have mastered interstellar travel before now :-P

LARP? There's a group of crazy people here at uni who run about the woods with weapons and such, I thought it was just something they made up here as a club, you're telling me there are more of them :confused: eeeek.

errm no me neither. Each to their own I s'pose. There's another thing that I thought was just here too but then heard them talking about it on the radio - "Warhammer"? Bit like a slightly more sophisticated game of toy soldiers... The only interesting about that is how they make all the little figures, they have workshops etc. Bless 'em.
