GWS mate.
One of the most important things with that kind of injury is to make sure no infections get in.Something for your family and visitors to bear in mind.
You suggesting they all don condoms when they go visiting then or what?:p

quick update. day 10, still no sign of no2's (where does it all go?) have had supp up there to no avail, looks like i will end up with an enema :(. on the plus side, the physioterrorists have been an i have walked (quite painfully) to the end of th ward and back. i cant put weight on my right leg and the surgeon has said it i going to take some time to heal, but it's getting more promising day by day :)

The body can't hold it all in for long, soon some nurse is gonna hate you for all the mess you are going to make.
As for the walking...woo! **airhorns** You'll be back on two wheels in no-time :D

Thats brilliant news.. hope you continue to recover well.
If they don`t give you a phosphate enema get them or your GP to prescribe some Movicol..... when you get home empty 8 sachets into a litre of water and drink over the following few hours. That should work better than dyno rod !!

Many Thanks to everybody for the support. The Hospital have let me home early (I think they need the bed). I feel so useless & I'm well pleased with the kids for sorting everything out for me at home (bed now downstairs). I am sort of walking with a Zimmer frame, got to keep weight off the right hand side for another few weeks and keep doing the physio. I love the pic BluePete, Yes that was me at about 3pm on Monday after my enema, how relieved I was when the floodgates opened.
Once again, thanks for the words of support, it has kept me going through some pretty bad times.

Dave, hope your life is going ok mate, heard about the turmoil, it does get better mate with time.
I could imagine you in a suit somehow, don't know why, but I could .
Didn't sleep too well last night, but it's a start. I have to use a commode, but feel really guilty because the kids are going to have to empty it :smt078. Like my brother said last night "You have cleaned up enough of thier sh1te in your life, so now it's thier turn".
Ah well, onwards & upwards.
Going to get onto the insurance today, if i feel up to it & find out where they are up to, then start hunting for another bike :)
