Member on here and lover of sv's had bad accident on way to work yesterday.

Riding his sv 650 on his way to whitchurch and hit something in the rd. That pushed him off line and onto soggy grass, where he then hit fence (@ about 60mph) Bike followed luckly, missing him, then travelled into on coming car. that equals an sv650 into 2 halfs with the fork and wheel left in some blokes bonnet. (thankfully not him!) After paramedics come and cut all his clothes off him and the rd being shut for a while he got 2 hospital.

where unfortunatly he still is. in a very bad way as he has broken his pelvis. Seen him as much as i can (His son) say bye bye 2 an sv very sadly but thankfully he is still with us!! (Very greatfull!) Very sad at this moment in time. But he is a fighter!! Says he will b back on a bike when hes fixed, but now it is just a waiting game :(

Get Well Soon Old Chap!!
We Love ya!! :thumright:

Hey mad mat,

Can't give an exact time frame, but from my experience working on an orthopaedic ward, a pelvis takes longer to heal than a hip. We're probably talking months.:( I'm pretty sure the nurses, doctors and physios will do their best. Orthopaedics has come a long way!

Give Mister C my regards.

no just broken pelvis. how long does it take 2 heal and gettin up & walkin agen m8y?

After breaking my pelvis, I walked out of the hospital after 10 days. (albeit the snail by my side had to slow down and wait for me) This was with 11 broken ribs and several other injuries as well.

It depends on how badly broken the pelvis is. I was relatively 'lucky' in I did not need any mechanics to keep my pelvis together. They just took out all the smashed pieces and left me with a hole instead. PMA is 50% of getting better as far as I am concerned. The doc's told me to expect a lengthy stay, that was just after being moved from ICU on the fifth day. So if 5 days is classed as a lengthy stay then I guess they were right

All the best for his recovery, help him to keep focused on the end game and not the pain and healing he has to go through.

A heartfelt GWS Mr C.

It's no fun have broken bits. I broke my tib and fib skiing about 18 years ago. Blood pumping out everywhere while the sled was bouncing about as the medics skied me down to the first aid station. I hope the break isn't to back and your dad gets back up and about soon.

It is Whitchurch, Chesire or is it Shropshire? (I know it can't be Cardiff ;)) I used to live in Kidsgrove a long time ago. Nice roads up there.

20-01-08, 06:18 PM
I remember all the scaffolding and the five plates put in, all I can say is keep up the hard work when it comes to rehab and always keep your spirits up! The hardest part I found with the initial rehab was having the confidence to walk, its not easy and takes a lot of bravery for that first step. Every step is a step closer to being on a bike again.

I wish you all the best Mister C

just a quick update. the police came to see me at midnight last night, i was still awake, so they asked me if i could remember what happened. i told them the story and the officer said that they would just treat it as an accident. she also pointed out that wearing the right equipment had probably saved my life. they reckon the bike is a right off and in 2 large pieces, so, for the moment thats it, staring at the ceiling and signing off lol :crutches:soon i hope :)
