Nice vid, the sucker arrangement that you use to secure the helmet cam, did you make it yourself or buy it from somewhere (if so where)? - Much better than the duct-tape that I use.

yarp...think so.. goood tunnel to blip the exhaust under....lol.. but the cars don't put their lights on in it, so if on the layby after, like we were, you can't see whats coming. Unless its a gaggle of SV's!!!!!1

there's a wide range of suction and screw mounts to fit a standard thread on the bottom of most still/motion cameras. I use top one :) apparently they're tested upto 189mph...
yeah dizzee I just had to get the downpipe in there lol - how long does it take to get it like that? and do you use autosol?
and yes it is the tunnel under leeds bradford airport. It was the first big group ride out iv been on & I loved every second of it. Really can't wait for the next one. If anyones thinking of making their own vids like this one, and you're local - give me a pm - I'd like to try doing a couple of vids shooting from multiple camera angles/bikes. Would make for a much more interesting vid.
I'm gonna throw a minute long short together. The bit with the guys chasing the audi - I've bought "flight of the bumble bee" off iTunes ;) should bee funny
As for the next ride, no doubt we'll be posting in the pennine massive section so keep checking back if you wanna be on the next video - sounds like it could be 2nd feb. Ride safe :smt096

I just had to drop that in, bizarely it really amuses me lol.
As for the music I was torn between a dancey track or an indie track like the rest of my vids. This chemical brothers track has a special place in my heart & it's just the right mix of synth electro type stuff mixed with big rocking drums. Really sums up the vibe of the day, first ride out of the year for alot of us, alot of energy and excitement etc - just a really feel good ride & track... iv gone off on one here lol. any ideas for the next track?

Great vid! I just had a thought, you could mimic doing a massive wheelie by looking at the sky for a while... hmmm

Next one needs sound :-D

21-01-08, 06:30 PM
you mean ambient sound of the bikes etc? gonna have a tinkle about with the mic and see what's up with it, could be a snagged wire or something
yorkie_chris
21-01-08, 06:34 PM
Yup if there's a way to get decent sound and not just a load of crackle from the wind overloading the mic.

Hmmm I'll have a play around and see what I can do with it :)
someone mentioned you know a thing or two about metals/welding chris, you have any experience with mig welding?
yorkie_chris
21-01-08, 06:48 PM
I'm no expert but can do it, I'm better at stick and gas.
Why?
Paul the 6th

im looking to buy a mig welder at some point and everyone seems to be saying the same thing "oh just get a mate to show you the basics and it's a piece os pi55 after that" - I don't know anyone with a mig welder lol. Just wondered if you might be able to offer me any advice etc...

Paul, I have found that with my camera mounted behing the screen, the mic doesn't get any wind over it. You can hear the bike well and can lean down and shout at it too!
Obviously, that would only work if the mic on your cam is a seperate.
This one is quite good for engine noise.

nice, i might give that a bash - my current set up involves sucking the camera to my helmet and then wearing the dv camera (which records to dv tape) in a back pack. Then if the worst ever happens and i come off, it's all contained in the bag & will travel with me, as opposed to if I'd strapped anything to the bike, cables & things would try and remain together during a spill... i'd be tempted to wire the mic down through the zipper gap in my suit and masking tape it to the tank behind the screen... all this for youtube lol
Good vid! Well edited. Will have to get my mug on one of them.

i might be up teeside over the coming months. the missus is from longlands in the boro and her uncle lives near yarm, we've been planning a bit of a ride out since he's divorced and doesn't have many biker mates.
