Park it at the station mate if it looks like it actually will flood. You can even get it under cover if you go late at night / early morning in the push bike bit. failing that, we could tie it to 4 oil drums and make a raft!

I oiled it a week ago! It's just a losing battle against the elements if you have to keep it outside in the elements. I will do a proper clean soon I hope, as soon as the flood waters subside.

If it does flood and water gets in the engine then dont try and start it without removing the spark plugs. (water is not compressable)

Sound advice TSM cheers, but it's starting to subside, I think it will be ok.

I did have a cover, but our road is like a wind tunnel, so it was acting like a sail and blowing my bike around. It would be good to have yours though thanks man. Should I bring a bag or tank bag or are you going to bring it in something?

The Dullsville can swim. I tested that out during the last floods. It can swim even when the water is up to my knees.

It's (relatively) clean again! I cleaned the chain and lubed it up. The brakes are still really seized but I can't fix that yet without some time and expertise on how to take the calipers off. Riding usually loosens them up though.

The SV can definitely swim! Back in the summer when we had those major floods and everywhere was flooded, I took mine the "interesting" way home, and found a few rivers (previously roads) to try it out on. The water almost got me seat wet, but the bow wave infront stopped it. :riding:

Mind you... it did smell for about a week afterwards! :smt012
