View Full Version : Regular (Weekly) Nottingham/Derby Meet
Does anyone fancy a regular weekly meet as the evenings are becoming lighter.
This area is fairly quite and most seem to tag along with other regions now.
If we can get a reliable weekly meet going, we may be able to get reliable big rideouts rather than ones that never seem to happen or just a couple of people turn up.
There is a couple of regular pubs nights in our region that I know of.
The Anchor Inn/ Peacock - Oakthorpe - Thursday Nights, Always very busy
The MFN - Kimberley - Wednesday Nights, Always very busy.
These are two very local to nottingham/derby that we could make regular ones if people are interested.
If anyone knows other that are local then mention them, then we can have a little poll to make the final decision, or something along those lines.

i doubt it will happen tbh matey.. you know how hard we tried before to get something sorted, i ended up joining the Gixerjunkies for my local ride outs.. i just think that people dont have the time, which is fair enough...
but as always.. id be up for it, id recommend MFN its a good ride to and from good entertainment etc..

Out of those two the Oakthorpe one would be best... however there's always The Victoria at Coalville on Thursdays is always very busy too - not too far away from Nottingham/Derby borders.
I'm up for it, theres also Tuesday's at Scarcliff.

we could pick 4 venues, have one a week and then you can either make it one week and not others or do the whole lot etc but we can pick places that are local to everyone.. or near as dammit

As Plowsie has posted earlier on the forum, We had a chat on our rideout last Sunday and the concenus was that Sunday meets are better than weekday night meets. I wonder if that would work for this area.
Be nice to do something with you guys.
But why do I not see any of you on the other region rideouts.
Some are fairly close.

Yeah why don't y'all come on over to my Sunday ride I'm doing. It'll be finished by 2.30 so you can all still get home for Sunday dinner and the Antiques roadshow, or in my case Wild at Heart :-D
thats just one ride though, lets get more places sorted.

Takes a bit of a push to get summit going though. May build up enthusiasm for you all if you all ride to other sections meets or rides etc and think man, why do i have to go so far, i know, we'll do one here etc.
I would like to try some other regions but the majority are 80+ miles to get there, i will do in the summer though.
In the meantime, I will be at the Anchor Inn/Peacock in Oakerthorpe every thursday night from April the 3rd onwards.
i think thats cancelled this year
i think thats cancelled this year
It will never be cancelled.
They have said that as long as people turn up for a drink, they will serve them.
What happens on the road outside is not their reponsibilty and they will 'remove' people from the property if they are doing anything that risks their licence or could bring civil action against them.
So if you sit reving the tits off your bike you will be asked to do one, and with lots of biker there who dont want to loose the venue, I dont think anyone will be argueing.
Its the same story with MFN, they can keep trying to close it down but it will never work.

But by getting a rideout organised it fires up peoples enthusiasms.

Well if we do get another region off the ground in the Warwickshire, Northants area then you won't have so far to travel.
Anyway we're going to Peterborough on the 1st March for an EAR rideout. 57 miles for us, 57 from Nottingham. Some of you lads might wanna do that.

As per my ride that isn't happening now Sunday. The Nottingham boys its just down the motorway for you. An hour at the most down it......
Admittedly, motorways are boring.

I think a rideout in the middle ground would be better... Leicestershire!
Not far from both Nottinghamshire peeps or Northampton peeps!
Just a thought...

If i sort summit out are people gonna turn up though...Or you can sort summit if you feel Steve as you will know roads better...?

If people give me an idea of how long they want a ride-out to me, I can knock-up a route! :)
(or at least piece together the best roads if the area into some kind of route)
