Yep it's cracking, wish I was in the position to buy one on a whim :)

I know a lot of people think modern bike design is a step backwards, but this thing is just brilliant, so purposeful and compact and sleek, the colour scheme just sets it off brilliantly.

Looks amazing, just worry about it being "too track focused". All the mags seemed to point that out. Ive come to the conclusion that for me, the R6 is probably the most comfortable of all the SS600s

They said this about the '07 ZX6R and I've never had any problems on the road. well, other than when my enthusiasm outweighs my skill!

Who gives a carp how comfortable it is?!?!? ... look at it ... just look at it ... =P~

It's ok, I have come to my senses now ... I am impetuous at times, but getting it would be a bad move! [-(

Hey, although I could 'afford' to get it, its not like I have that sort of cash falling out of my back pocket ... if I blew that much on a new bike, then it'd mean I wouldn't have as much 'play' money ... although the draw of pure s3x of that R6 is a strong one, I have lots of interests and I reckon I'd get more fun from having some cash to enjoy them ...

To be fair, I have an R6 in the back of the garage* that hasn't seen the light of day for over a year!! :D

*I kept my old race bike as a memento/souvenir, I'll never get rid of it ... even if I total it at a trackday in the future, I'll still keep it ... it has a lot of sentimental value now ...

Yeah the same for me, I could buy another rode bike, wouldn't mind something sleek and fast if I wanted probally cheaper than racing:D

I too have quite a few interest the worst part is none of them are cheap, but I love doing them. At the moment its err one thing at a time, I have decide upon giving up buying a house cause I know soon as I do, I will have no/very little play money left.

So I have to spread it out and work ass, but the fun I have is worth it.

Probally best folk weren't around when I read my last pay slip, ?1111 in tax ect, the air turned very blue:smt013

I agree. Last year I worked for a Triumph/Yamaha dealer's workshops, of all the bikes I had to test ride I disliked the R6 the most, closely followed by the R1. Great bikes on track, but crap on the road.

I have been looking at a few bikes on ebay, motforum etc. But my car was trashed about a week ago, so I'm stuck cash wise needing a car ect, lawyers ect grr:smt013

That bike is also mega expensive, its the one I PM'd you with details about I saw it for sale in another sale before ebay. The main proble being, how much to spend on the race bike. Casue I need a load of gear on top and the van and bike as well.

It would be better to be on the track, than having a sweet bike then not being able to afford the gear or to race. Its a fine line, its very frurstrating not quite having enough to pull everything togther yet. Its reallt annoys me to be honest, I work my ass of yet its still not just enough:(

So I have decided do my track day at Brands, they make a call which I think is best. By them I should have some form of settlement for the car. I think then i need to decide how if, I can afford to run 3 road vechicles may be chop the car in place of a van. Not sure yet, but I won't let it get to me, I'll figure something out I'm sure.

Blue you're a man of fine taste!

I considered chopping my 05 in for the 08, but i found it quite uncomfortable, in comparison to mine.

I do like it though....whilst a lot of the new bikes look terrible, IMO the Yamaha's are gorgeous.

it's a great looking bike until you reach the zorts, which is utterly HORRIBLE!! still wouldn't turn my nose up at one if someone offered me one for free ;)

What does that mean?? I owned one for a while and had no problems on the road or the track with it. Test riding a bike and owning one are quite different experiences.

If you have a view to being competitive, DON'T scrimp on bike ... you'll regret it when that tw4t passes you down the straight just coz he spent ?1k more on an exhaust system, airfilter and dyno time!! ;)

If you want to get out there and give it a bash, any old nail will do mind, you won’t need to spend more than ?1500 to get a basic curvy with a few of the race bits (clipons, rearsets etc) and WOW!! :)

All the trick bits and bobs, like fancy suspension, wavy discs, quick action throttle (a true on, not R6 tube) and weight reduction, fancy fairing etc etc, only make a proper difference in the last few seconds. To be honest some of the stuff you are only down to tenths … but tenths matter if you want to be competitive!!! ;)
