Anyone read this article???

According to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee, 40 per cent of bikes are unlicensed. It's an appalling figure if true, but how have they worked it out? A properly-conducted survey, or an office junior sent out with a notebook to have a look at as many bikes s/he can find in half an hour. I smell a rat here.

It doesn't say how many of those bikes are currently on a SORN though. (or does it?) I know a lot of people that SORN their bike thru the winter and tax them in the summer.

There must also be a few older bikes that were off the road before SORN started. So if they are still stored off road and not registered, its not breaking the law.... or is it???

If it's SORNed it won't be registered as unlicensed. Even old bikes need to be SORNed now. There's about 4 threads on this
