Just got back in on the bike and a fellow rider has just come up to me and told me his house has been broken into just down the street.
They took his bike, car, game consoles, pc and anything they could find valuable. They also trashed the house!
This is not the worst thing about it, this has happened to 4 people on my street since christmas and plod not doing anything about it!!!
That is still not the worse thing, another thing is that i am sure recently before i knew about this i looked out of my kitchen window and i saw a face staring straight back at me, just thought it was imagination at the time but to come to think of it, it makes sense.
Every single lock on my bike, garage, house and windows are done. But if i find them in my house they will regret it! :smt013
Hate hearing this sort of thing. Absolute lowlife.
What area is this? No need to be specific, just area.

West midlands, West Bromwich, come down and help protect my bike, oh and my other posessions ;)
Fit an alarm, but mount the siren inside the house. It might not stop the breaking in, but might make them leave quicker....

That is crap, yup keep ur place locked up I'm sure something is being done. Call up up and find out what they plan to do, make a compalint or something like, that might get them moving a bit quicker.....then
I agree with you, if I found someone in my house, or messing with my bike then yes I would be very upset, so if someone upset me by doing this then they would be having a bad day.

LJ turn ya LEDs on and stick a white sheet over ya bike and strt making ghost noises if they break in to get at ya bike ;)
I suggest a crowbar by the side of your bed, along with an alarm with an indoor siren. Got an alarm in your garage?
I don't know if floodlights would be a deterrent or help the cnuts..

I know it is an American guide but really same applies here. Other then that get yourself a couple of guard dogs.

I'd definitely get one of those garage mines- the shotgun cartridges that go off if someone opens your garage unlawfully.... or an alsation ;)

Any webcam & computer can do that, with the right software (which is freely downloadable).
But do you really want to rely on the fact that you have the cnuts on camera? They've already got the bike by the time you see the film.
Personally, shotgun shell tied to an alarm system. Guranteed to make them think twice, and harmless (unless they have a heart attack).
But in this day & age, whatever you do to secure your premesis, I would advise putting signs up stating that it's protected by an "intruder alert system" and that "tresspassers will be prosecuted." Saves quite a bit of legal agro should the cnuts decide to sue for injuries gained whilst they were breaking an entering.
EDIT: Thinking about it, one of the lads at work is ex military, he was a guard dog handler and still has the dog. Those things are far more vicious than police dogs...

Rob i was seriously thinking of gettin one of these :D lol.
Just make sure you do use one that can only be used for blanks, in fact if you want one, best buy it now before they're banned...

time to buy a gun.
Maybe even put something up somewhere to tell them you know they're coming, so they'd better think twice.
get an alarm and a Tazar if you catch them tazer them, then beat the living s**t out of them, i am sure they wont call the police wil they? infact cut their achillies tendon they will lean not to do it again then wont they.

This kinda of thing get right on my nerves. If the lads had not been trespassing he wouldn't have got hurt, simple as. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:smt013:smt013 . I understand and agree that we can't have live shotgun cartridges going off adhoc but FFS.

Tazar will get you into the same kind of trouble as a handgun would, so slap on the wrist really...

Volts don't travel, they can't go through anything.

Get a ground anchor, get an almax chain, and get a couple of other locks to put round wheels and through the frame or whatever! Be clever in securing your bike, and no-one will be able to get at it without some serious equipment
Matt

OK miss picky the electrical current will travel through the wires into the body and find its way to earth via the path of less reisistance. And yes i know its current that kills not voltage, voltage ( or potential differance)burns and causes the pain.

my best mate told me a story once,( and I know who it is, so i can assume the story be true) of a very nasty biker, who had a few tools stolen from his garage. He knew the little scroat would be back so waited for him. When said little scroat returned, he confronted him, threw him in a van, and took him to the town centre, where it his said that nasty biker dude staple gunned his hands to a bench or summat.
puts new meaning to the phrase 'nicking owt that isn't tied down!!'
