Ok, so I was in a car and not on the SV, but what a car!! 8)

A very, very good friend of mine invited me along to Snetterton on Saturday to have a play with his new toy - some pics below :D

The car starts out as a standard Mustang GT, before Saleen get hold of it & whack a dirty great supercharger in it

4.6 litre, supercharged V8 - power somewhere in the region of 500bhp.

Add a live rear axle and a VERY wet track into the mix & the result is pretty lairy, lots of (mostly unintentional) sideways action. Going down the back straight we were still getting wheelspin in a straight line - at about 90mph!

(I've had to just post links to the pics as the photographer's website doesn't allow direct linking to the images)

A 106 Rallye/Gti with a reasonable suspension setup will pretty much keep up with anything in the corners with a decent driver behind the wheel.

So when a guy is borrowing his mates 'american car' which are renowned for not really going around corners even with £10000 worth of after market suspension it not really a suprise at all lol.

Got to say the mustangs are not my things at all. Must have been fun a right laugh though.

That Pug was lightning fast in the bends, we followed him into the 1st corner after the pit straight a couple of times and he didn't brake AT ALL  He did get it VERY wrong at one point though and very nearly wrote off his car. I never found out what edition of 106 it was but it was heavily modified anyway...

And you're right, it was a right laugh!

Yep. My favourite small rally car by a long way. I would love one as a trackday/'rag it round the dirt roads up brecon' car. I've been trying to talk a couple of mates to go thirds with me on getting one.

Little 106 is a grea track car, renowned for killing a lot of bigger cars.

Easily seen 160bhp with £1k's worth of engine mods too.

What were you topping out at at the end of Revitt Straight?
