Hi

And for the first time yesterday my boyfriend (drew carey) took me on the back of his bike....having never been on a bike at all I was to say the least pooing myself.

However it was sooooooooooooooooo amazing, never had so much fun in my life before, I am hoping that this weekend coming proves good weather so that I can go on the bike again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I don't care if its raining- I'm going on that bike!!!!!!!!

Never are we to use the car again on a weekend that is!!!!!!!!! :D

And here was me thinking you were busy working today!!!! But no, busy posting on the Org!!! Just kidding.Glad you enjoyed it so much, was worried that you wouldn't enjoy it.As you may all be able to guess, I'm the other half to Lily. Was amazing to finally have my lady sitting with me on the bike (If a little unerving to start with trying to get used to the handling of an extra person).

Thought you'd be used to the handling of an extra person by now, Drew;)

I took my 15yo godson for a ride round Bristol. Uncle Ed is not popular as now Fran is desperate to get a bike licence - and they don't like bikes in their house:smt077

Welcome to the Org Lily, I'm sure Drew has told you what a friendly/insane bunch we are already ;-)

I know the feeling all too well Drew, first time I took my other half on the back it felt really strange ... and that's when I discovered she wasn't leaning into corners with me ... thank god we were only going round the block. That was her first and last time on the bike - after that, we just had a mutual agreement - she didn't want to ride pillion ever again, and I didn't want her riding pillion ever again. Most unsettling  Still, bikes just ain't for some people ... but glad to hear that you loved it Lily :D

Hello! Welcome to you and your fella. Fellow Worcester dwellers - well not any more for me but I grew up there. Still got loads of family and friends dotted about there too. There are some wicked roads round your way for the bike, I love the one through crowel and Himbleton towards Hanbury. always have to take a de-tour on the way home to see the folks. Just watch out for thew horse poo! :smt023

I remember my first pillion ride on my dads GSXR750-WN (thats a steel-cradled, carb'd, lardy 1992 model) when i was 10 years old. I giggled and laughed and screamed with delight, then he started going really fast and I just screamed.

But I never once gave the signal I wanted to slow down or stop (which was ment to be constant digs in my dads ribs). Riding pillion is a brilliant experiance, wether you are a rider or non-rider...infact, I might ask for a pillion ride on my dads GSXR750-K6 (aluminium beam frame, FI, superlight, super gorgeous) one day :D

Welcome to the forum.

Drew; Sometimes i prefer having maria on the back...it makes everything a bit comfier, and the handling a bit less flighty. Slow manouvers suffer a bit though, but I'm getting better at that :D

Have fun you two, two-up riding is an excellent way for couples to spend time together

My first pillion ride was on my bosses ninja 9r. "Don't worry sean I'll take it easy".. I looked over his shoulder and the speedo was close to 140! Fugging great, I loved it :D
within a month or two I'd done my CBT and 2 days training and had my bike license :)

congrats. what did you think of the comfort? I didn't think much to my pillion seat.

I took my dad on the back once, never doing that again.. it was wet, had cylinder misfiring and a 14 stone lump on the back!

I think drew took it up to about 90-95 but if i'm honest it did not feel faster than 50-60. When we were going slow in the towns (30) that felt quicker than 30 and 90 felt slower than it was.

The seat wasn't to bad... I did first think that my legs at that angle for so long may be uncomfortable but shockingly it was good. (Did hurt once got home tho and was sitting on the sofa) :)

Before I learned to ride I went pillion on the back of a mate's bike.

We hit 155mph on the clock.. Though the needle instability at that speed meant we weren't going quite THAT fast.

Felt like the wind was trying to push me off the back. :smt103 No screaming... No laughing... Just holding on for grim life...

Hello there! I've been pillioning with my other half (mousetrapper) for the last 18 months and we have great fun together! It's even better when you're rising through the alps winding up and down the hairpin bends!! :D
However, like you I have been bitten by the bug and plan to do my CBT soon!

Hi lily,

Glad you enjoyed it - sounds like you are pretty hooked already!

I pillioned regularly for many years - loved it - but in the end decided to learn to ride myself because I wanted to be able to see where I was going ;)

My first pillion was on my Dad's C90. I was scared witless, in a good way!

Welcome!

I hate being a pillion usually - hate not being in control. The only person I trusted was an old girlfriend, she was good rider - very safe. Don't know if I enjoyed having her on the back, whenever I gave the bike some beans, she'd try to climb up me back and push me over the headlight:D

The worst experience I had as a pillion - that's easy. 6 months after a car turned right in front of me and sent me flying into a lamp post and my mate into the wing of the car, a friend picked me up at Northampton train station with his "race tuned" T120 and a spare helmet. I was expecting to die:reaper: all the way to Irchester. Looking back, he got me back onto bikes again though:D. Never been on a bike like that old crate, it vibrated that badly, I couldn't see properly and couldn't keep my feet on the pegs!

Like riding as pillion or driver. Like taking a pillion. Lots of times, two up is is more fun as you have someone to laugh with (or at). Just waiting for our resident mad pillion to stick her oar in...........

Having been riding now since October, can say with hand on heart that I hope I never go pillion again.....so much more fun being in control. As me and Lily only moved in together a week ago though, we obviousley have to save money again for her to do her test.....until that day, will just have to keep taking her as a pillion. Also, as per her earlier post, "Hope the weather is nice this weekend", I have just checked the forecast for here and not so good.....snow on Friday and Snow on Saturday.

Hiya Lily and Drew.
I'm just up the road from you, I learnt to ride with Skellerns in Worcester, excellent tutor, but I don't think he works there anymore, shame.

Perhaps we could meet up at Malvern? Mr Lou and I regulary ride there on a Sunday morning, have a coffee at British Camp before riding back home.

I like going pillion, I don't often get the chance, but it's all the fun with none of the responsibility. Especially if there's someone who knows what they're doing at the helm.

I agree to a certain extent, but I've been on the back of a couple of litre bikes where I've been thinking "He's riding like a right :toss:" and the most enjoyable part was getting off :(

Im due to ride pillion with my dad for the first time in 2 - 3 years in july, when we take my bike to get derestricted (he'll bring me home and take me back when its done)

I am bricking it slightly, as he rides faster than me, and whilst beofre I just trusted him, I now dont understand HOW he does it. So I will be thinking "brake now...brake...brake!!!!!!!!!!"

oh god
