I have been off sick for nearly 4 hours and I'm bored to tears already.

The earliest I'll be going back to work is next Tuesday and that is only if I can ride the bike to work by then.

Mark, I feel for you right now.

I can't even play any pc games cause I can't use the controller or keyboard.

Good news though is I appear to be pain free. A little suprised about that but happy.

Watch Dave TV, hit the "new posts" button like a deranged monkey on crack, read comics.

That got me through 4 weeks when my leg was knackered.

Or get a USEFUL hobby!

(Sorry to hear you're bored really matey. How long are you off for?)

I suppose that depends which is your main hand and whether or not you're ambidextrous!

I think he's implying you should spend a while on a "monodextrous personal research" website perusing "art films" of a "european" nature...

PM me for links if you like :smt083

:smt046 Yeah I was the same when I was at home last summer, bored to death though I was off my tits on my pain killers for a few days which passed time. I got so bored I rode bike before I should have done, the result was not very funny!

So where the finger? Is it on a chain?

Get well soon, the internet is as awesome place and it can entertain!

Get a Nintendo Wii. Many of the games can be played one handed using the remote.
When I was off sick last year, it really helped to take my mind off the pain.

I think you've had something done to your finger (removed?)? Got any good photos? :-)

Years ago I had gallstones removed and before I went in to the op theatre, they said "Do you want us to keep them for you?". I said I wasn't interested, but when I woke up, there they were in a little pot next to the bed (they said they were impressed by the size and the quantity so thought I should see them). I didn't feel right about chucking them in the bin, so I took them home (I left them at my parents house when I moved out - probably still there somewhere).
Did you get to keep your finger? You could make it into a nice key fob. Or something.

To answer a few questions.

The finger is still on my hand (for now) I do not have access to day time TV. Both my kids are home as the school is closed with no power  In mt day that wouldn't have stopped a day at school. No... wait... I never went to school in the first place. So I have the option of watching cbeebies downstairs or some American junk that my daughter keeps telling me is comedy. I don't have a wee, or even a poo. (well I do but I'm not playing with that, not even with someone else's hand. And in any case, the kids have taken over the TV as previously explained.

I must have been married to long as I didn't pick up on the significance of the comment about the shuffle hand shake sites. I don't think my kids are yet ready to be watching dad "exercise". Not ready now and god willing, ever.

I started to trawl through eBay pages but Jo soon put a stop to that. Grrr

If you've got another TV but just have the normal channels, I've got a spare freeview box you could borrow. Or a stack of (mainly very violent) films on DVD - wife has DVDs of things like "Ladies in lavendar" but I'm not sure that's your sort of thing! :-)

Wow would you look at that. My finger has healed and I'm ready to go back to work.

Thanks for the offer of free view. Not going to work though. The only picture I can get on TV is via sat dish.

Any way, after bragging that it doesn't hurt, my finger has now decided I had it too easy

[shout mode on] Jo, painkillers please.

When I broke my right hand once and I still managed to type and play xbox (albeit badly). It was excrutiating but worth it to alleviate the boredom. Give it another go mate, you might surprise yourself and what you can do.

Stop whining you big fairy and get on with it, you're married after all frustration & pain should be something you're well used to ;)

Bloody light weights.

Cheers Mark.
