View Full Version : Shire Horse 05/02/08
So who will be making the trip to the Shire on Tuesday :?:
I should be there. I have physio on Monday where I get my first post op examination of the finger. I have already got the dressings down to just a plaster covering the wound and tried on several pairs of gloves last night to see if I could get them on. I could, so the next test will be to see if I can actually ride. That test will be when I pick my bike up from work after the hospital visit.
There is also the possibility of a visit from Plowsie (Stu). Famous for his ritual of riding his own bike over his own foot each time he gets a new bike. Way to go.
There is also the obligatory Nick numbers option.

Well, after seeing that the famous Plowsie will be there, I am .... .... .... attending!
Stu, do you want to come past Oxford to meet with me and Phil on the way down? I will PM you my number if you want to organise something. I have to eat pancakes with the bird first, so should be leaving at about 6:30-7 I guess.

05-02-08, 02:31 PM
Well what way do you go mate? I was just gonna hit the M40 from A43 and pummel down...only prob is i can barely hold 80 atm in this weather. Been a err larger kid aswell doesnt do the top speed justice. So might be easier me going down on me own...Up to you mate...
Warthog
05-02-08, 02:37 PM
Well if you want to pummel down the M40 be my guest! Phil and I go south past fox's diner toward Henley, then east over to maidenhead and the shire. Probably leaving at about 7 after faffing about with fuel etc. Do you know where fox's is?

Seeing as I am coming from home instead of normally from work, I'll be there around 7ish. Depends on what time Jo gets my dinner ready.
Coming from Kingston... Don't know what time I'm leaving & don't know what time I'll get there.
Useful as a lead pigeon....
Still A308 has got to be better than boring M4

One word.....Runnymede. Lovely bit of road, especially when the grass is short, so there's good visibility. Unless its windy of course, in which case you'll probably end up in the river. :p

I had a really good time, best meet yet I thought. Bike felt really planted on the roads too, can't recommend Z6's enough to Mr "my rear tyre is bald" Plowsie. Roll on the summer roads and loads of trips and BBQs!
Oh yeah, and especially nice to meet you Tony, Mari and Stu. Stu of course you are welcome back; you deserve big kudos for travelling 1.5 hours each way to a meet when Nick_76 can't even make one in his own back garden!

I don't live in Mhead anymore.. i'm all of 30 mins away! But yes, my lack of attendance is unexcuseable and I will make more effort next time. Didn't eat until gone 7.30 and had to bid on an ebay auction at 9.30.. Did think about a brief appearance but was too full of pancakes to move :smt106

well the zzr died again from its dreaded electrics and ive now changed the rectifier and will be getting a multimeter tonight so can properly check everything over. Interestingly the reg/rec i took off only 5 pins in it whilst the replacement has 6, same connector tho so im hoping that it was the wrong one originally on it.
